Heya everyone, I'm a newbie here.
I've done the search thing, but no luck. I've spoken to some people about this and I get mixed answers.
I wanna take my Kyosho TR 15 buggy to the beach, ya know, make a track on the hard pack sand and have some fun.
Yes I know sand is evil on drivetrain and bearings, but if you wash the hardware afterwards and it should be fine.
Any hints or tips on sand driving would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Blair

seal up all the electronics as you would if you were running in snow or water. also you will need to clean your air filter very often. make sure to clean everything afterwards very well and clean the bearings too. also get some paddle tires if you can. besides that have fun!

My best advice would be to leave the car home. Whether you wash it or not, sand still makes its way into moving parts and causes extensive wear and the salt from the ocean causes rust. You may get away with it, but you may also be replacing bearings, drivetrain parts, screws, and rebuilding shocks when you get home.

Thanks savage, I thought it wouldn't be a major to have some sand action. Besides I used to take my KX125 to the sand dunes and it did'nt do any harm, so long as you wash it thouroughlly. Thanks again.
Time to make a sand track at low tide :D
