hey guys here a Corvette C5-R 1:12 RC car, and heres what they say at radioshack:
1/12 scale authentic designed Corvette C5-R dazzles the competition with its metallic blue finish and red and white stripes. Features a full-function remote control with an estimated range of 36.5m (120') and available in 27MHz or 49MHz versions for racing. The RC80 motor can deliver a top scale speed of 197kmph (122.7mph).
and where do you canadiens find you off-road cars?

You realize that the scale speed equates to about 10 miles an hour? If you're serious about this, you can find a better and faster RTR car at Tower Hobbies for about the same price. They also ship outside the US.

Yup, it's the holy land for rc stuff. Many of our rc friends from Australia shop there. There prices are about the best you'll find, and their customer service is pretty decent.

Well, let's do this the easy way. What kind of vehicle are you looking for? Onroad, or offroad? What's available to you for "track space?"

Some good beginner cars are:
Traxxas Stampede RTR w/ ESC $150
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXVK75**&P=ML
Duratrax Evader ST RTR $160
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXXJ49**&P=ML
Either of those will be WAY better than the Radio Shack Car.

Welcome aboard erdaman! :D
... and available in 27MHz or 49MHz versions for racing. ...
Whenever you see this, it means the receivers in the cars are FIXED and you can't configure much of anything in the RC. Most RX's have a receiver that you can change the crystals for as required. Generally, RC's you'd get at Radio Shack are pretty much for planned obsolescence, if you plan on being in RC for any length of time, get something a little more competitive, it will cost you more but will be well worth it in the long run. You can learm more about it on this board, or by browsing through some of the articles located here (http://www.rccaraction.com/rc/articles/index.asp).
Piggy will set ya' right. :D
