I have a 31" prather deep 'v' that im restoring. Is there any type of paint thet you have to use on the bottom of the boat? i am also running a K&B .15 ob. Is there a way to reroute the water pick up from the prop spray to like on one of the trim tabs? And how do i adjust the carb?

Thanx a million!

these prather deep vees are coming out of the woodwork lately. good boats. adjusting the carb is easy, you loosen the nut that's on the needle just a little bit and then you can turn the needle, then you retighten the nut. you shouldn't have to move the cooling tube. it's good where it's at, it gets a lot of flow and is pretty much always getting water...unless of course the the entire boat comes out of the water. i'm no painter but i don't think there's any special paint for the bottom. i just throw on extra clear coat for good measure.

The pickup tube is in the best place for getting water. If you feel that you really have to move it, Prather does make a set of trim tabs that has a hole predrilled in it for a water pickup. The K&B 3.5cc (.21, not .15) is a motor that doesn't need a lot of water to keep it cool. I've known people that slightly pinch off the line so that it will run hotter. K&B themselves know this and that's why the SS version has an air-cooled head.
