I'm having difficulty with oversteer. the shocks are stock, ride hight is with the bones level. i bought a swaybar kit to play around with, however i just want to fix the problem without the swaybars, and then tweak from there. any suspension set ups that work well? toe in/out is preset on this car. feedback is much appreciated.

first check you camber angle...make sure your wheels are strait, then try putting a softer spring in the front....like HPI's Pro Linear red springs....i use stock springs in the rear and red springs on the front of my RS4 and my rear end gets tons of grip and traction, make sure on the front though, you use 2 on each shock, medium thin C-clips and in the rear you use 1 on each shock, medium thick C-clips.

One thing that I've notice, that sometimes you might think it's oversteer, but really it's MASSIVE push.

If you are accellerating out of the corner, and your car spins out, it's not oversteer in the front, the car is pushing. You'll also notice that you have to slow down considerably before hitting the apex.

Oversteer is when the back end is skitteering around the corner.

Put some toe in on the rear, or/and soften the rear.

He is probably just looking for more steering.
Options-
Stand up the rear shocks
lighter shock oil up front
less toe-in in the rear
Increase the camber of the front tires
Get foam tires
Set some droop in the rear

Many times the cause for it not steering enough is because the rear has too much grip. If you loosen up the rear end, it allows you to slightly drift, making the turning sharper.

The suspension tuning can be critical, espesially with foam tires. Make sure your ride height is the same on all four corners. 6mm is good for parking lots 4-5mm is good for racing. Also, make sure your chassis is not tweeked. This could cause the steering to be good to once side, but bad to the other.

^^^ Surely if he's oversteering he has too much steering?

thanks TRW, agalanis... after a strip down of shocks, all four were even (as in travel). i added a hard rear sway bar. it stiffened up the rear so it wouldn't spin out as much under heavy throttle. learning to drive faster also includes being more constant on the throttle. its working out nicely. Thanks Guys!

p.s. KTRTS, duh :p

O, duh, lol

For oversteer,
increase rear toe in
decrease the front castor
harder shocks in front/softer in the rear
lean the rear shocks in
