Is that $30 or $40 per pack or total. If it is per pack then check out some of the lesser known companies. I don't know exactly what they are but someone can help you out. I sugguest you get GP3300's. They are the best cells on the market right now. If that is $40 total it is going to be difficult to find 2 race worthy batteries for $40.

http://www.specpointbatteries.com has great budget cells but for quality cells promatchracing.com and surgebatterymatching.com have awsome packs. email them or call them and see if they can work out a package deal for you or something. both are very frendly and have great customer care

Best bet go with Kinetix, prices range from $30 for the low end packs and only $55 for the top of the line packs. All of the batteries are matched. I'm going buy the stage 3's and they are worth every penny of the $45 price tag.

Thanks for the sites. What Mah do you think would be good for 540 racing, should i get 2400, 3000 or 3300. Thanks

i would get the 3300's because they have the most voltage and the lowest ir, which is very helpful in a spec class.

rcguy, did you look at all the links we have posted, every single matcher listed only matches GP's

You'll still see deals on the 3000 or cells referred to as 3300 which are Sanyo unless they say Gold Peak or GP don't bother even if price is great - in the long run you probably won't be happy with them. There are a host of sources you can get GP batteries from. The cheapest I've seen are the Pro Match bulk cells in 12 or 24 (89.99) which are good for stock racing. Box is made of all different runtime and voltage cells (they didn't meet the team cell level during matching) but if matched by voltage you could get one good race pack - the two boxes I've gotten most cells vary in runtime but enough 1.15 cells to make a good pack and varying runtime by 5 seconds.

for 540 gp 3300's are way to heavy, yeah so what if they have extra voltage you only use 1200 in a 5 min race for 540. i have 5 gp 3300 and even they are to heavy for stock so i use them for mod. i use 5 psonic 3000 for stock and 3 tamiya 1400 for 540.
you see the 3300 way 90grams a cell. 3000 way 70 grams a cell whereas 1400 way 40grams a cell.

its not that much heavier, and certianly not egough for a new racer to worry about. and come to think of it 99% of the racers in my club that run stock use GP 3300's. its not just because of the voltage, but they run longer (good for pratice) and are more consistant then other cells. and they are punchier too.

Spec Point Batteries (http://www.specpointbatteries.com) sells great budget cells and quality race cells. What makes SPC Sport packs so good is they are assembled from matched, GP 3300 cells and they include labels. If someone wants high-end race cells Spec Point Batteries has those also.
