i think i'd go 1/8th buggy. very durable, offroadable, raceable, and fast. maybe the ofna ultra lx comp. it is a good solid basher buggy for only $300. then use the remaining money to get all the nitro support equipment and stronger servos and a couple of extra glo plugs.

depends what terrain you want to drive it on really, i recommend the Tamiya TNX or the HPI savage 25 for durability and toughness and they are quite good performers too

Do you want ST, or MT? Either way, I'm a pretty big Associated fan. So I would recommend either the GT or MGT. Both are RTR. I own both of these trucks, and they are very tough.

HPI Savage .25 RTR, Tamiya TNX, or a 1/8 buggy.

i dont care what it is, just as long as its durable and can withstand a jump or two.

The RTR Savage 25 would be a great monster truck and they are durable also. And if you wanted to go with a stadium truck I'd recommend the rtr associated rc10gt. Its like $270 on tower and is also extremely durable with a lot of parts support, like the savage.

The savage is going to be around $420 give or take $20. Try tower for exact prices. If you buy the GT then you'll have a lot of extra money for glow plugs, fuel, parts, hopups, etc. The savage however will leave you with less money to buy extras with.

Either way you cant go wrong, they both are excellent trucks.

I would recommend a monster truck for bashing. Stadium trucks and buggies will get stuck pretty easy in rough terrain. Savages are hard to work on so I don't recommend them... All of the following trucks will be a great buy! I would pick the GS Storm SUT if I were you... ;)

Traxxas REVO
GS Storm SUT
Team Losi Super Truck (LST)
Team Assocciated Monster GT
XTM Mammoth
