Today's turnout was pretty good for a 8:30 am meet time. Not everyone had a crawler to run :oops: I took a few pictures... hell, all I got to do was take pics :lol: Only took about 130 images in total :D
I'll post up a few but then you guys will have to sift through the mess of images on your own.

Thanks. Location is at our new Lake Oswego crawling area... some park ;)

The blue chassis is our Rockraider chasssis... Jason(the owner that rig) had it anodized blue. In stock form they are plain aluminum(sliver'ish) color. We, http://www.rcrockgear.com , should have a few Rockraider chassis in stock mid-week.

Does anyone do rock crawling with Nitro??
No. Nitro can't work as well as electrics.
Nitro = Go fast
Electric = Go slow

Nice! Why did you take the wheel off?

What would you say is typical runtime with one of these hard-core crawlers? And how often do you have to do motor maintenance?
KidWithACrayon

For the bigger cars about 30-45 min. (right toyo?) and for the tlts (the green and yellow body one in there) is about 45-1 hour min. runtime....
For the engine maintenance, I don't know since my crawler is in the mail... Toyo should know... I don't think there is much maintenance...

Depending on setup(motor/gearing/tire size/weight of crawler), most run times range from 35-60 minutes. Most run for about 30-40 under serious use. Run times go a bit more when using a reciever pack to supply power to the power robbing servos.
And how often do you have to do motor maintenance?
Motor maintenance varys from person to person. Some will tear into their ride after each outting but most just keep running them every weekend without much work. I normally clean and re-lube my motor once a month which is about 7-10 battery packs between cleaning. The motors don't really work too hard with gear reductions and slow speeds, motors tend to last for a good amount of time.

Once again, those are some awsome pictures. To bad there are any crawling organizations near me. That looks awsome.

Go to RCCRawler.com and you'll see the Kongs in action from many other people. They need a ton of work before they will work well on the rocks.

We have yet to post pricing or ordering info just to keep people in suspense a bit longer....no, we have been having some issues with a shop that is doing the machine work on the chassis.
The chassis does not come with the long shock towers, it's an add on.
Our Rockraider chassis will cost around $75. It's super light weight and super tough.
Watch our forum in the vendors section over at RCCrawler.com for newest updates.

My crawler, the Green and Yellow Jeep gets approximately 1 hour of run time on a 2400 mAh pack. With my stock TLT 1700 pack I get around 45 minutes. I'll probably add a receiver pack before too long which should extend that by a few minutes.
As for motor maintenance. I haven't touched my 55 turn Integy in about 2 months. I generally put about 1.5 - 2 hours a week on it and it hadn't suffered any. In fact there appears to be little to no discoloration of the comm and the brushes show very little wear.
My truck is however lighter than some of the other trucks there which decreases the wear on the motor. I run a Stampede tranny with 15 tooth pinion and 87 tooth spur gear. Top speed is around 4 mph.

Holy crap! 55 turns!!?? I didn't even know such a thing existed. Is it basically just designed to give killer torque?

The Integy 55T motor is actually designed to run a motor lathe. With this in mind it's designed for low speed and lots of torque, which makes it perfect for crawling
