what batteries do you have? they can have a big role in performance. also if you are going to orderfrom tower the kyosho mad science motor line is a great line. the 16x2 should be a good compromise between speed and runtime. or the 16x2 Speed gems pro (dont get the 2, the pro is much much better), but the SGP will need alot more matence but not much more performance. also what ESC do you have? if its the stock one just get a 19t motor bc it will only handall down to a 17t and thats pushing it. the trinity chemelion2 is a great 19t motor

I have a SPG 16 turn and it doesn't require a lot of maintainence but it may compared to the Mad Science motors. Go with the mad science motors they are very fast and are well worth the money. Welcome to the boards!

First off, get some ball bearing, and new carriers from RPM for the larger size bearings. Then your motors will work better.
Also, as a Rustler owner you must know how to "Jangify", check out www.ultimatetraxxas.com and sign up. You'll learn everything you need about your rustler. Rustlers are tough, and the biggest fault is the tranny on them, but it works.
