post office says viper is 4.8oz. but i think i can make it lighter yet. don't want it to end up like my tigermoth. first flight and the wings collapsed. what a bummer. does anyone know where to get parts for them. i've written gws twice with no response?

Yo Mama, you said that you mailed a letter to GWS. Why not post is directly to Mr. Lin. He is the president of GWS(!) Hes posted on the forums at Microflight. I'm sure he'd be glad to help with your moth.

Did you paint the underside of the wings or leave them white for some contrast?

I painted the whole plane. I used a 1.25inch by 1/32 ply to stiffen up the wings, but it looks good though.

I have written him two emails and am still awaiting a response. one of my friends also had the same problem and horizon hobby sent a new set of wings (no charge). I will probably do the same.

Here are some pics of the 2:1 ratio viper gear box.
Only 36 grams of static thrust but there is a major amp decrease 1 amp 8 watts.
Hope to flight test it this morning.

looks good man, what esc are you using? I am looking for another one and I see that yours has no wires, or is it just soldered? Mine is ready to fly, but I'm afraid to "ditch it" I bought 15 of these planes @ Meijer the other day. 75% off. Not bad @ $6.00 huh.

$6  That is the deal of the century!

I use the SIRIUS GFS ESC
Weighs one gram (without wires) and needs no further suppression if kept close to the motor. They unofficially handle 13 amps. The diode leads are the motor leads. I clip them short and use 1/2" flexible wire to connect to the motor. The solid wire diode leads would break away during my "awesome" landings.

I have a few if you need some. There are a handfull of online sites that sell them.
