motors

i have a traxxas rustler. it comes with a stinger 20 turn motor. is this motor any good? i am interested in a compramise between speed and long run times. would a quality stock (p2k or something) be a better motor? or should i try a name brand 19 turn or something?

A new stock motor such as the P2K is pretty quick and won't kill your run time. Even though after market stock motors are 27 turns they are still faster than the kit stock 20 turn hybrid.

The P2k is one awesome stock motor. I also race with a Team Orion The Edge stock motor and its awesome, so if you are going to get a stock, stick to Trinity, or one that is based on a a P2k like a Fantom. These motors have great runtimes with 2000 packs you could run up to 10 minutes. Also a must is to get a Rebuildable one.
