I'm considering either a Savage 25 or an AE RC10GT RTR. My issue - I intend to drive it 50/50 pavement or dirt / grass. Now, the grass I'm intending to ride on is only normal lawn length, not like a prarie or anything. I'd like to go with a vehicle that won't leave me NEEDING more,(I know I'll WANT more, but i'm looking at need) but of course, I'd like to stick with the AE because of price. anybody trying grass with their ST? Please let me know the outcome
oh yeah, no racing plans, just goofing off in some fields, probably very few mods, if any.

I've got a FT GT and it does just fine on the grass at my local parks baseball diamond. In fact the transition between the infield (dirt) and outfield (grass) is hardly noticeable. Just my .02.

so as long as i'm steering clear of rough terrain i'm ok with a ST? no overheating problems with the high resistance of the grass?
thanks

Just this past weekend I did some major bashing at the aforementioned diamond and my temps hovered between 250-270. I'm running w/an OS .12 CV-R.

You'll have to consult your engines manual for it's particular running temp range, but for my engine, it's just fine. Other factor's to consider are the weather and your air/fuel mixture. I like to run mine a little rich (more fuel) to help keep temps down.

I've never run my GT on grass, but I bet it would do fine. I run in on the street all the time, you just need to get some good street tires and you'll be fine as far as that goes. As far as dirt the GT runs like a dream, I mean as it is off road. As long as your not going mud bogging then you should be fine. By the way there's a great RCCA video of a Losi XXX-nt driving on like a baseball field. You may want to check it out to see how it goes on the grass as well as the dirt. If I remember correctly there may be a little street footage as well. Here's the link to the video's page, just scroll down and find the Losi XXX-nt video. Enjoy :D
