I dont have the TLO1 but I have several Tamiya kits and have built several for other people. They are probably the easiest to build and have the best instructions. Very little reading instructions but great pictures of how everything goes together. If your just starting out then go with a Tamiya kit. I would suggest that you buy a bearing kit for the car. Its easier to do it when you first build the car. Also it will make the car faster and make it last longer.

hey man im 14 now and i got the same truck when christams came i was 13 then!!! Now I have made my green Tamiya TL01 by myself it was so easy. But there are a few bad things a bout it... Ok I got it hoping it would be fast (wrong) hoping it lasted longer than a 9 minute run time with 2000 battery packs (wrong) hoping I wouldnt have to take it apart 5 times in the next month to fix it(wrong) It lasted about 5-8 minutes full charge I had to take it apart 5 times in the next month or so because my servo horn came off 2wice and my gears screwed up the i just changed motors to a Paradox 1 Pro. Dont ask why I spent my moolah on the motor. Then I found out it isnt going to be so bad cause ill convert it to a rally truck!!!! Just now.. So a week and a half ago I bought from towerhobbies(get all your stuff there http://www.towerhobbies.com/ ) and my choices were tamiya e parts bag for custom body lift, tamiya rally block tires, and soon longer shock, arms, dogbones, anodized parts, etc. But if I had said anything that makes you not want it then dont be afrain get it!!!!! its awsome once you hop it up a little and keep the body on the top mount or youll scratch the fenders and wear out your tires. Hey i got a little tip on painting it too. Before you mask and paint it take the plastic coating off the outside and inside and paint it on the inside. (glossy coat) I found out the hard way that the plaztek was still inside after i painted it it really ****** me off and i almost called tamiya and gave them hell about it but anyway check out my website ive got stock pics i think my link ll work but here goes nothing anymore question bout the tl01 email me nickmac14@hotmail.com and if you have msn instant messenger give me your email so we can talk plz, good luck,Nick http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/cool.gif http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/redface.gif http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/wink.gif

Hey thanks Nick! Talk to ya on MSN!
the tamiya tlo1 isn't real fast but there are special spec races just for that car and you don't need anything special to do good. Everyone in the race has to use the stock setup, motor, shocks and other stuff,so if your a good driver you can do good without spending all your money.i'm only 14 and i'm very competitive in these races. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

Gas truck freak-I fyou ever wanted to race it you could go to RCO in Hanover, PA. They run stock TL01's w/ bearings in their own class! It's alot of fun. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

A Tl01 with bearings, and stock motor can get at least 15 min with a 1500 pack. It is a great car! but remeber you are limited to where you can drive it.

Its so **** easy. I got one but the Stadium Raider, which i already converted it to touring. I use Dodge Stratus body. My advice is before u put together the parts, make sure u ready yer ball bearings. the 1st upgrade which u should have on any new kit. Good luck. I use Tamiya Dyna Run Super Touring motor, ESC LRP F1 Pro reverse and Futaba 2PCKA MAGNUM and all deans plugs. Aluminium arms, front hub, carbon propeller and shafts and the speed tuned gear. Tested and at par with RC10TC3 on its moderate motor and with same battery packs.
