Hey I work at a car audio store, car audio is my life. Don't buy that deck, it has been known to skip and rape disks. There are many many more better head units out there, for the price that you can purchase. If you need any help, just drop me a line and I will help you in any way i can.

you obviously want us to say "BUY THE RC CAR". Personally I'd rather have a nice stereo in my car, but an RC car will get you more chicks!

hey kas_finally what do you think i should put in it. it has one of those really big faces on it with the casset and clock. so sony ain't no good, i was thinking of pioneer but that takes alot of $$$$$ to put that in. give me your e-mail or if you have
icq then give me your name and i 'll look you up. heres my icq name RacingMason , and this is going in a 94 s10 if you need that info.

I don't know man. I think the sony would get its butt kicked out on the track. Probably can't take the jumps well. Go with the RC-10GT! I have the Factory team version, but I know you won't be disappointed with the RTR! Matt

Personally if you want a radio get a nice JVC or Clarion. The JVC Head unit I had wailed for what I paid. My boy just put a new clarion in his F-150 and it screams, so there are some options.

I have a clarion in my VW bug, I like it alot. Right now i'm trying to find a new deck to drop in and i'm planing on putting in two 12 inch woofers and a 10 inch sub woofer up in the front trunk compartment. Any suggestions on what kinnda amp and steakers i can throw in there. Also, Whats a good deck i can drop in there to really complete my system? Cya

Definetly go with a Clarion. I have never had a problem with my DXZ715. A friend of mine just got the Sony CDX-M770, but it is not all that loud or clear, although the face is way cool. I am running:

Clarion DXZ715
2 Soundstream Picasso's
1 Soundstream 1000.1
3 JL Audio 12w3CR Subs
2 sets Dynaudio system 240's.

This isn't your typical system, and it took a lot of $$$ (which I kinda wish I had back), but you definetly want to spend as much as you can to get the best on whatever you are trying to buy. With audio, your system is only as good as your weakest link. An example would be to get good interconnects like Phoenix or Monster and not Radio Shack or Walmart. There is my 2 dollars. (Opinions seem to be getting expensive too. :p )

For deck go with something like alphine, pinoeer, or eclipes. For woffer I personaly like the eclipes. But they are seal speakers so they won't be as loud but will be knocking deep.

Also for amps for the eclipes go with something like dei or mmats.

Dual Competition Audiobahn 10" in a sealed box powered by a ppi powerclass 1 channel 600watt amp, eclipse head unit/changer, audiobahn components powered by cadence amp. that's if you have more money than you know what to do with... otherwise

Single JL 10w0 powered by any amp rated to 200watts is plenty for bass for most cars.

OMG, where do i begin. "dual competition audiobahn 10".....is that supposed to be impressive? audiobahn has many lines of subs, for all we know you got the budget line that sound worse than my ass.

ppi pc 600 watt amp...solid amp, but if your audiobahn subs are ANY good at all it might power 2/3 of ONE sub....not close to enough for 2.

eclipse head unit/changer...ooh big $ there, anyone with $400 can get that **** ...$400 if they're stupid and pay too much

audiobahn components, gag me, did you go witht he $84 set or the $92 set? LOL

cadence amp....i've owned one, my friend has a couple, good amps, but by no means top of the line.

for the record, i do not by any means have the best system out there, very average...it consists of:
nakamichi cd-45z (HU)
A/D/S p4100.2 4x100 (amp)
Oz matrix 130? (5.25" comp set in custom kicks)
2 10" oz H series woofers in my doors...with custom door panels

if you have more money than you know what to do with try something like genesis or brax with some rainbow reference series speakers (a casual 7 grand) and 2 velodyne 15s.

3- JL w6 12" Subs

Want a real sub, try the new 18" JL W6. My friend has one in his Cougar. You can hear that thing coming a mile away. He has the top of the line Sony head unit w/ the hiding black face costs about $500, my Cheap Pioneer head sounds better and has more options. I got 2 12" Kenwood Tornados and a crappy Jensen 500 watt amp and its probably the best sounding system for $225.
Car audio kicks butt
See Ya :p

My friend is sponsored by ample audio and he has a sound proof civic hatchback with two fifteens and a wall that his 154 on the decipel reader. It bows the roof, but he made it sweet and it doesn't rattle or ne thing. It has 8000 watts of power in it. His system would have cost him butt loads of dollas, but he is sponsored and gets it all free

arguing over car audio equipment is stupid...

everyone says that everything else sucks except for the brand they own..

sound familiar? oh yah.. just like RC

for your info.. the sony unit does not "suck".. it may not be the greatest and best unit out there.. but it far from "sucks"..

i have in my car a fairly inexepsive set up.. but it sounds better than a lot of the competition set ups i've heard

got a 4 year old flip down clairon head unit
2 6" Polk Audios in the doors and 2 6x9" Polks in the rear.. a got an Blue Thunder MTX 75x2 powering 1 (yes one) MTX 10" sub..

of course i have a hatchback so anything more than the 10" would really be overkill

and my system sounds good for everything from jazz to drum n' bass..

i spent 250 on the head unit (a similar unit now adays could be picked up for probably less than 200)

(i worked at circuit city so..)i got the speakers half off.. so i spent less than 100 bucks for the speakers...

and i got the sub for 20 bucks (love them discount days of close out specials) and the amp for 50..

did the install my self witha (1/2 off) install kit.. for 35 bucks

a grand total of.. 450

thats REALLY cheap for how good my system sounds..

but then again that same 450 could buy me that Tamiya Impreza Rally i wanted.. plus a clod buster..

so.. yah

all i can say is go for pioneer. I think kenwood is good and so is alpine. I have a pioneer 8200R face (the ones with the dolphins, cool) I got the 3-way Sony XS-V1631 6.5 speakers (180 WATTS) and i got the pioneer 3-way tsa 1665 6.5 speakers (180 watts.) this system pumps out good bass, and if you set it right you can make it so someone can hear it two blocks away. I just bought 2 rockford punch HX2 subs (1000 watts peak) and a q-logic box. All i need is an amp. THe only thing i can say is BUY OFF EBAY. i have gotten everything off there and everything has been 50% to 75% less than at circuit city and crutchfield.
