Should I buy the T-MAXX or the Nitro Quake for backyard bashing? Also does anybody make sand tires that will fit the T-MAXX?

T-maxx all the way. It has more ground clearance and better handling.

I recently purchased a T-Maxx and I love it except the engine. It runs extremly hot, but that is the only weak point. Just my thoughts!

Get the Quake it is bigger Way faster more durable and the engine is very easy to tune.

Get a T-Maxx. And yes, Nitro_Man is right, the Engine runs very hot so I would get the T-Maxx then get a different engine.

if i were you id get the maxx. Reverse, nice chassis, lots of hop ups, etc. The quake is nice but no reverse. I have 1/8th and hate running after it when it gets stuck.

Why do you guys rag on the engine so much?
Traxxas says that the Pro 15s run at approx 270 to 280 as normal operating temp. This means that even if you run them rich they run at approx this high temp. It isn't hurting the engine at all.
Run the Top Fuel that they sell and run it correctly and you will have no problems.
But I suppose you guys know more than the engineers at Traxxas huh?
Don't go telling some guy to buy a whole new engine just because you can't read the directions.
People like you ruin this hobby all the time. Giving out advice without actually knowing what you are talking about.
