Help with building truck setup

I decided to get back into the R/C scene and I need to start over. The most popular class at my local track is 1/10 Stadium Trucks. First decision is XXX-T Matt Francis 2 or RC10T4 Factory Team Truck. They seem to stock both trucks equally. I need alittle more help with the electronics. My price range for the radio and the ESC is around $250-300. They only run a Mod class so the ESC has to be pretty good. Would this price range be good enough for somewhat serious racing or would I need more?

cant go wrong with losi or ae i have a t4 i love it so id get the t4 and esc gt7 or the new gtx thats comming out in september or what ever and i usualy dont give a crap about the radio so i just get a futaba 2ph 2 channel and have an extra servo

both are good trucks.
for a radio i would look at the jr xs3. this is a synthesized radio and comes with a good metal gear servo to start.
