i was wodering what is a goodd truck to race with, it have a xxt sport but it is kinda busted and i cant find many parts locally, i was looking at the traxxas rustler and thought if i upgraged it fully i could compete wit all the xxxt's on the track, i would like a xxxt but it is too much $$ and i dont think it would be fun to bash around in my yard, and all the hobby shop near me have full parts support for the rustler which would be aq plus, but i just dont know if it is good enough to race

Buy the T3 if you are going to race...dont ever buy a Traxxas car with the intetion of racing it. They are fun to bash on, but arn't designed to be raced. A stock T3 sport would destroy a fully hopped up Rustler.

First of all let me say I love Traxxas stuff. That said I would suggest you wait a while and save up for the XXXT if you want to race. It will be cheaper to spend the extra money on a race truck than it would be to upgrade a Rustler. Upgrading can get expensive quick. Maybe you could find a couple of yards in the neighborhood to cut to earn some cash. Maybe even keep them as regular customers to support the racing.

Let me say this.. Rustlers are not race material. I have to tell you.. i agree w/erac in saying that a stock t3 would beat a fully hopped up rustler. Just dont do it... if you have any intentions of racing.. wait a little longer and buy the race quality vehicle.

The Rustler is a good truck I know cuz I have one. Is it good for racing? I do not know? Having the best truck with all the hop ups doesnt gaurantee a win. If someone had a loaded XXXT and wasnt a good driver they would probably lose to someone with a semi loaded Rustler who was a good driver. You get what I am saying. You have to be a good driver. I will say go with the Rustler if you wanna bash in your backyard. Replacement parts are easy to find especially through towerhobbies www.towerhobbies.com (http://www.towerhobbies.com) It all depends on what you are looking for and what your budget allows. The choice and money is yours http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

why don't you just look for a used T3 or XXXT or even a XXT? Go to your local track and ask around to see if anyone has anything they want to sell. You could probably find a used T3 Team for around $100.
