I don't normally have problems with spraying faskolor paint. I can seem to get my Iwata HP-cs to spray fine or to even spray this color without shooting burts of the color teal. When i am spraying the color white I have no problems but the color teal seems to be giving me a hard time. Anyone have this problem before? Should I be putting a little water into my faskolor paints to help make the viscosity thinner? I just bought this airbrush 3 weeks ago and thought that I would/should have zero problems spraying this kind of paint. Any suggestions on what I could be doing wrong.
PS: I spray my colors at 40-45 psi, and still have problems getting a fine hairline spray.  :(
HELP!

You need a fine line airbrush, such as the Paasche flow pencil.

Some of the FasKolors are not thin enough, and Teal is one I've had trouble with. Check if it's too thick.

Hairlines require lower pressure. Thin the paint and spray it at 20 psi.

I got my flow pencil today and it's not what I thought. The pic on the box is of a real airbrush with an air inlet for the hose. It has no inlet for air hose. It's just a glorified paint pen, that looks just like an airbrush. I don't even think it will work on lexan, it needs paper or something to pull the paint out. I'm going to return it.

Soo how do you usually manage to get really nice shades without having too large of a shade. I am currently having this problem. i can get around it by taping off areas that I am working in but this usually takes a lot of time and a lot of patience. Any tips for easy shading

What kind of airbrush are you using dubble or single action?

I currently use a paasche single for spraying large areas that require no detailing, and I also have an Iwata Eclipse HP-cs that i use for just about eveything

Try the paasche single with a #1 tip for shades.

is that particular tip a smaller one?

Yes you have 1, 3, and 5, 5 being the bigest. Is it an H set?

No it's a VL. Does it matter which of the single brushes I picked up?

The VL is a dubble action airbrush. You control the air and paint with the button right?

I don't see it in the Passche catolog, post a pic of it, when you can.

I see it now, yes it's a single action internal mix. you can get three tips for it. #1, #3 and #5, I'm reading it will do a 1/64" to 1" line with the #1 tip. That's what you want. You need to find out what you have, and get the other two tips, needles and caps for it, and then it will be a much better airbrush.

I think I'm going to drill out the paint passage so that it won't obstruct when spraying. I am going to try and find a 5mm drill bit, we'll see what happens.

dont do that. the tips are identified by grooves in the needle and numbers on the nozzle. 1 will have 1 groove, 3 wil have 3 and so on. nozzles have the number stamped on them. for the actual venturi that the needle seats in, you will have to test fit the needle in them and find out which one fits correctly. you should see no flat part when inserted fully. just the taper. I hope you can understand this, i have been drinking a little bit of the beer and my typing usually suffers as a result.
