Servo Saver

Yes they do help. Lets say you have a bad landing after a jump and the truck lands on the left front wheels jerking the wheels sharply to the right, this puts alot of stress on the servo's gears and it can strip them. if you use a servo saver it will relieve the stress of the impact.
