I never really think of bolink in any major races. Its more of a club racer and parking lot basher.

Uhmmmm, ya can't bold the titles, that's why there's no "bold" button next to the title box. Then the users who think their thread is more important than everyone else's would use it. So then every thread would have a bold title, which would eventually negate any benefit of having bold titles. It's the same kind of thinking that brought us those damn daytime running lights. ;) :D j/k

The sport 2000 is a pan car. If you can race it or not mainly depends on the classes they run locally. That particular chassis will get you started ok but it's no top of the line pan car.
Bolink used to be quite big in the oval scene years ago.
from what I understand bolink is out of business as well.
If you want to know if you got a good deal or not, do a search on ebay for the vehicle, and compare what ebay says your vehicle goes for ( look at completed auction listings ).

Yes I believe they did go out of business. I heard though that a new company bought out their stock and molds.

The Sport 2000 is basically a sheet of fiberglass with no rear suspension and a sliding kingpin front suspension. There's no transmission, just a straight rear axle driven directly by the motor's pinion. The tires are standard 1/10 foams. The chassis can be set up "narrow" to fit under a 190mm TC body, or "wide" (standard pan-car width). It's the simplest RC car on the planet, but also one of the lightest, and very easy to go fast with. If you stick with running on smooth pavement, you'll have a lot of fun, especially if you run a GTP style body to help the rear tires hook up (or just put a big ol' wing on any body you like). Also a good car for drag racing.

you might be able to compete, but take it to your LHS to see if its legal.

Actually the Sport 2000 does have some rear suspension as it uses a flexing t-bar style bottom plate like most pan cars. However it has no shock for dampening of the rear suspension.

Well reguardless of the 6 that's still a great start for a first race with the car!
