After all the complaining posts, I thought it would be a nice change of pace to say whats good about R/C and R/C companies.

JR
I just love my JR XR3 radio. For $160, its as full featured a radio as I will ever need. It holds 3 car profiles in memory (I've only ever needed 2) and performs glitch free week in and week out. Even the servos they include with it are great for TC racing.

Dahm's
This is a great small body manufacturer that now sells direct to the public. I LOVE the diversity of their bodies. Their CyberBuggzy is an awesome body for Stadium Trucks's and I like their older style hot rod bodys for just bashing. Yeah, their stickers are kind of cheesy, but who cares! You buy 3 bodies and you get the 4th free! And he only charges one shipping price no matter how many you order. That means they run about $16 or so a peice. Did I mention when you call them up, the owner actually answers the phone or gets back to you in 24 hours?

Hot Bodies
These guys make killer GT style cars for 190mm cars and are about 20% less then an HPI body. Who wants to drive a Honda Civic when they can drive a McLaren Longtail or a CLK-GTR?

RPM and Robinson Racing Products
Has either of these companies ever made a bad product? Not that I know of. Plus you have to love companies that analysis the weaknesses of others and step up and fill the gap with bullet proof products. I've used dozens of products from both companies and never once had a failure. EVER! RPM's stuff is very reasonably priced, and while Robinson's is more expensive, their stuff is built like a brick.

Associated & Losi
I've owned Associated cars. Their always well made and they do things right for their customers, not only building the top of the line competition vehicles but also by doing small things right like putting everything you need to rebuild a diff or shocks in one package. Little things like that make a big difference to me because it makes it convienent and easy to maintain my car and that greatly ups my satisfaction with R/C. I understand Losi is that same way.

Traxxas
I love the line in the Emaxx car of the year article about sending every one a new, improved more full featured ESC because some chuckleheads drove their electric cars through water and melted theirs. Did they have too? No. But I agree the fact that they did is a great testament to their customer concern and care.

Post some positives!
:) :)

Hitec RCD
They make great products, I have owned thier top of the line to the bottom of the line radios and they are great. Especialy the lynx 3d. Still today i am finding out new and different things it does, and that dcx reciever is great. Its the smallest one ive ever seen (yes as samll as the phaser).

Tamiya: fast cars that are basically tanks. can be made to compete with TC3s and run with just about anything....probably the best value for a newbie buying a car

I like all the different people I meet at the track. Of course, some are big aholes, but the majority are very cool and help newbies without hesitation. So far, every manufacturer I've had to contact about repairs or something came through with flying colours! Losi sent me parts that I had a hard time getting from the LHS. JR fixed my XR3 (4 months out of warranty) because EVERYTHING (steering wasn't centred, throttle trigger came loose, LCD stopped working) broke, and they fixed it quick! So I now own 2 XR3's, an XR2 and will be getting an R-1 soon. My other pit buds also went and bought XR2's since they know JR will stand behind their products. Novak reps have always answered my inquiries very quickly and professionally about older Novak products. So I really haven't had a bad experience with RC companies yet.

Well I have to give Props to RCCARACTION and all the admins and moderatots here that give us a clean no B/S forum to discuss our hobby/sport. I also must say Associated are great. I ordered directly from them and got my little package in 2 weeks, not bad considering it had to be sent half way around the world!! Novak to is A1, when my poor old 410MXC fianlly died, it was 10 years old!! They did a trade in for it, for a Tempest max.

What right with RC?

DURATRAX!!!

Say all you want about their cars not being competetive. Their cars are about bashing and giving the consumer the best bang for the buck. Look at the 50 mph RTR Street Force for a mere $299 or the race-inspired $179 Evader ST RTR complete with full ball bearings and a ball diffs. These are great kits for great prices and are continuing to bring in new people into the hobby. Hats off to Duratrax.

What is right with RC? Personally, I have yet to find something WRONG with it.

Horizon Hobby:

Great distributor, fast to deal with, and carry top-notch products, and do a great job of it. I work at a hobby shop, and I must say, I like the way Horizon works better than all of the others.

Traxxas:

Customer Service comes first, and great products come second, I love the way they work, great guys out there! They are finding ways to improve already great cars, like the E-Maxx with the new speedo, and the T-Maxx, with a little something 'Extra' that you will all be seeing in a few months, that is sure to make a big thing BIGGER!

Racing as a Team with my 2 sons! First hobby/sport that we spend all day doing and aren't ready to go home. Only downside is teaching maintanence and repair. That and the cost incurred with our somewhat reckless driving...hence the team name :)

OS:

I like my little OS CV. It never lets me down, and it's just a nice engine. You don't get mad and want to throw your car out the window with this engine. You can't deny how awesome the CV line is.

Horizon Hobby:

A while ago, Bruckner Hobbies posted something on their site that said that they were mad at Horizon for cutting the cord on them. The reason was that Bruckner wouldn't sell JR XR2 radios for 99.95, they wanted to sell for less. Horizon was trying to levelthe playing feild between mail order stores, and LHS's, and I really appreciate that. I believe that once the feild is level, both LHS's and mail order places will bring the prices down together. Props to Horizon.

The guys at my track:

Eventhough I haven't been there in a looong time, I still think the people at my local track are really cool. There are tons of super friendly guys there. Not all of them are outgoing, and want to approach you, but they will talk to you if you open a convo with them.

There's lots of complaining that goes on because people lose site of why they are in the hobby. They want to have fun. Try to make it fun to wrench on your car, and play upbeat music that keeps you in a good mood, so that when a problem comes, you stay calm. (My favorite band to listen to is Dave Matthews Band.) When you make it fun to wrench, you'll notice that you do less and less wrenching, and more playing - and less breakages, uinless you're a totally insane driver.

Have fun, and sorry for writing a small book...

Mark O.

DOOD! Dave Mathew's Band RULES! Although, everyone thinks I am a nut, because I listen to it, hehe.

Tower Hobbies:
Yes the original Tower. You either love them or hate them. Helped many people, and ya gotta love thier low prices and quick shipping.

RPM
.....

Futaba
Great servos, and great low priced radios that are still top in features.

Hitec
For the only Dual Channel receiver and multi-crystal radio.

Kyosho
For proving that they can still build the best kits out, while still having great bashing cars.

A&W
Yep, the famous Root Beer that saves you when you use "i need a //beer " in chat.

Steve, hah! Mark - o - Polo...How do you get it to say "originally posted by ___"? Dave Matthews Band is awesome. I saw them in concert at Jazzfest (big multi-concert type thing that goes on for a week with tons of bands), and they totally rocked. That band just puts you in a good mood, and their music keeps you mellow. They have the best musicians of any band out there.

JP, no, not A&W! Barq's, because it has BITE!

Well, I did the "Quote" option, and then, you write inbetween the little things, so I put the [I] and then typed Mark-O Polo in the middle, and then typed the other part, then I did the rest of it in the bold type, wiht [B] and then put your quote in there, and finished it off with the other side of it.

hehe, pretty clever?

Didn't Mark-O-Polo originate when he said he was changing his name to be more SteveP-sque and his post ended w/ Mark O. and I posted Polo....hehe...it stuck.

Hitec: great radio gear for little cash

JR: They stand behind their stuff and it's great too. I love my JRX-3

OFNA: I know, I know, their customer service is lacking, but trucks like the Monster Pirate and the Monster Blazer RULE! and they're quality stuff. I think OFNA would be up there in price with all the other top dogs if they just had some better drivers.

Haha. That started in a thread that asked why Ammoace changed his name to JerryL. I responded about how he was trying to be SteveP-esque, and how my name would be MarkO. Well, GMOP hit me POLO, and I almost died laughing, because I unknowingly set myself up for it. Yeah, the name is sticking like the CA that was in between my fingers yesterday.

Hehe that happened to my sister. She asked if I had anything to glue her precious hang nail back on and I gave her some CA. I warned her, but she glued two fingers together anyway :D

I thought of another one too.

Tamiya: They've always had some of the best "fun" r/c's to bash w/ like the clodbuster and blackfoot :)

Rc1oGtMaN

Ewww hang nail? Those aggrivate me to no end. Back to the subject...

Novarossi: they have been making top of the line engines for a while, and have built up quite a name for themselves.

Old R/C cars: These are great fun to work on. You get to look at the old design and technology that the modern cars evolved from, and it's just fun to have some relics sitting around.

RCCA, Nitro, and TC Mags: I think these are the best r/c magazines published. None of the other mags have the writers that Airage has. So, RCCA gets a big thumbs up from me.

I have to add Ofna to the list for value. I've been trying their wheels in 4 and 8 packs for $9.00 and have to say their excellent. I can't tell a difference in performance over wheels like HPI and Proline. In fact, I doubt I will ever be buying the HPI wheels again given their price.
