Which would you say is the best R/C Car/Truck manufacture? ;)

Associated would have to be one of the best. Their service is hard to fault, their products are of the highest quality. Best of all they still have parts for the older cars.

u know this is gonna b a shootout between Losi, AE, and HPI. but im gonna go with an oddball :)
Novak ^_^ they may not make cars but they make the best equipment for them

Kyosho makes some great kits. Associated is tried and true. But I'm a Kyosho dude all the way. Parts are easy to find and they always have the coolest buggies. They make a lot of beginner and kiddie kits but when it comes to competition, they always pull through. <font color=#dedfdf>

This is a hard one. Lets see if anyone agrees with me.
Tamiya- for ruggedness and looks of bodies
AE- for raceability
Traxxas- for availability of parts and strength

cough cough I don't think their new Ultima trucks and buggies really pulled through. Many of their factory drivers use Associated front and rear ends on their cars because the Kyosho ones are too fragile. When was the last time you heard of a Kysoho touring car being any kind of a force? About the only car they make that is a force is the Inferno, and they have that one down in sp^des (Is spiades -i a bad word?). It was my first car and my first intro to RC.
There is no "best." They all do good things differently.

Hmm, I don't know about the Ultima's nat being that great. In the Florida winterchamps the RB (mind you, this is a brand new car that came out this year) made second place (buggy stock) with Jeremy Kortz. Also nabbed 4th, 6th and 8th. I admit the ST has been less than stellar. Where did you read about Kyosho using Associated front and rear ends? Why would they when kyosho makes graphite front and rear ends for the RB? That's weird...

I dont understand the Kyosho not being comeptetive remarks above..... As for their touring cars. TF4 type R, KX ONE and for nitro V-ONE-R GP... All great cars.

Are you kidding me? Kyosho is a great name and the V-One is def an awesome tourer!! I lost my intrest in associated after they came out with a 250 esc that performs just as well as the cyclone for 140.. whats up with that? If your starting this hobby and like nitro, get yourself a HPI RTR RS4.. my friend has one and though its not the fastest thing, its easy for begginers to use. Traxxas? I love their EZ start (not great for racing as it adds weight) But def. a cool feature. And if your getting into electric, get yourself a tamiya kit. I learned so much when i got mine because I built it from scratch and not only that, it beat my friends nitro rs4 in speed and accel (stock mabuchi motor) which isn't only fast, but long run times. Have fun and don't listen to what people have to say because they are just opinions. Get what YOU like.

I give a nod to Kyosho for making really cool kits. They do not specialize in race kits (obviously ! :p ), but they sure make some cool ones. Like the Sideways and the Maxxum (FRONT WHEEL DRIVE !) and the Kart 10, and the Quad Racer, and and and all those cool, unique FUN kits !

Nobody has said Ofna yet, who makes the mighty MP and MB. Nobody said anything about the USA-1 from Kyosho.

HPI is the best
1.best and most informative web site
2.Support is second to none
3.Relativly good quallity of products
4.Accesabillity to hop up and stock parts
5.While the RS4 isn't the best on the market
it did change the market and is still a staple in the TC class

I'm going with AE. First off their car designs last for atleast 3 racing seasons before being updated. When they are updated their is almost always a way to upgrade to the most recent version. Also AE has a rep for making vehicles that anyone who can build a kit can also tune. Plus AE has been in the business longer than any other company. One last thing; talk about bang for the buck. Very few companies make a fully upgraded version of their cars that costs so little.
IMO Losi is a close second followed probably by Ofna (another bang for the buck company), then Kyosho.
Roadrage, AE doesn't make ESCs, they only import LRP's from Germany. They are LRP's US distributor so they don't have that much control over the cost.

My 2 cents -
Losi kits are superior to HPI in my experience. Losi uses excellent parts and has exceptional manuals. I haven't built an AE Kit from scratch, but the parts seem well made/designed from the cars I have repaired. Losi designs are second to none, IMHO. And I'm not baseing that on big wins, I know that's because they have top drivers. As far as support and stuff, I haven't delt with any of them enough to say. :D

There ain't no such thing. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. The best advice when choosing a vehicle is that which your LHS supports the most readily.

Outsider, I got that from one of the magazines, not RCCA. I think it was in RC/Car. It was one of the first issue I read after not reading it for a while and the wife threw it out. She apparently is under the impression that if one of my car magazines is not in my hands, it's ready for the trash!!!
I will admit to being ignorant of the V-one-R, but no one around here has raced the TF series. Previous the the version 4, no one would recommend their cars. I view Kyosho as starting this trend of "less in the box" since they were the ones (to my knowledge) to stop putting in wheels, tires, etc. in the box because its a "racer." That kind of thing just doesn't sit well with me as a consumer. By the time everyones Version 6 fo your favorite racing touring car comes out, it's just going to include a blank graphite sheet with instruction on how to file it into a chassis. When I got my Pro 2, all I had to do was slap on the body and I was ready to go. Who cares if the tires were racing turds, I was playing in the street and running it the next day. Now HPI has jumped on that bandwagon with their Pro 3. Forget performance, just compare the Pro 2 to the Pro 3, feature for feature and I don't care how HPI justifies it, you get less in the box. Before HPI told you that aluminum shocks were the best! Now they are saying, "No wait, plastic shocks are really the best!" Could it be HPI is lying and the plastic are just cheaper to produce? Well guess what HPI, I bought an Associated (a company thats actually won championships) TC3, it has aluminum shocks.
Sweet Moses I tangented again!
Anyways, everyones view is different. The best manufacturer is the one that is right for you.

1) HPI
2) A.E

WHAT!?!? NO TRAXXAS FANS! I love Traxxas. They may not win big races all that often but you gotta hand it too them, they are pretty good. The Nitro 4-TEC Pro took first in a big race though. But Traxxas is also one of the leaders in RC innovation. Who came up with the first RTR Nitro Stadium truck? Traxxas. Who was the first company to produce a RTR monster truck that comes in elec. and nitro, has 2 speeds forward and two speeds reverse, is the size of a 1/8 and is powered by a .15? Traxxas. Who has a ready to run nitro and elec vehicle for every level of driver? Traxxas. Who still has parts for vehicles that go all the way back to the early 90s? Traxxas. While Traxxas may not be really competitive in racing( although the vehicles can be hopped up and turned into full fledged racers ), they have excelent customer support, excelent parts availability, and awsome innovations. When it comes to back-yard bashing and sport racing, I SAY TRAXXAAS ALL THE WAY!

Well, I think that Traxxas has some awesome customer service, and Ofna makes some pretty strong kits. I say that because I've got an Ofna MBX R2 and Havent broken it :D. It's been through lots of bashing.

Many people overlook traxxas as a second rate company, but they still have a huge following. The only thing that they are missing is a competative stadium truck to go with the nitro 4tec and the Nitro rustler(yes it is capable at the club level). How about a reincarnation of the SRT?

I MUST say that the KYOSHO line of products is the BEST :p
FIT and FINISH is excellent and 9.9 times out of 10 the manuals are easy to read and withoug mistakes. I have tride TAMIYA, HPI, ASSOCIATED, DURAJUNK, and many others.
TAMIYA makes good plastic models, etc. BUT KYOSHO by far has the best products.

I think that this question is a little to open, There is not best company, i think that is really depends on what sort of driving one is into, the money they can spend, and there local scene. for stadium trucks and buggys for example losi is nice, but pricey, so one might got for a traxxas, Traxxas makes good monster trucks, but if once can afford more maybe a losi? It really just depends.
Man, diggin' up some old stuff here. ;) As long as it's here, I'd have to agree with hdcchrome. I think Kyosho makes the best products. Some of there RTR stuff still needs improvement, but the middle to high end stuff is awesome; XRAY is right up there with them. Associated, Losi, Traxxas, Mugen, Tamiya, Schumacher, Corally, Serpent and sometimes HPI make nice stuff too. Durajunk... :D I love it. ;)

sneseless, is it so senseless though? Or does it demonstrate or loyalty and thus our very devotion to what we love, If we had no loyalty it would mean that this hobby means nothing to us, as we would buy anything. I think that his argument is one of the facets that makes this hobby so fun. Its a time killer, and you get to know poeple.

I search the forums for interesting threads and I am glad to see people hit this one again :D
Everyone has a preference based on experiance with that manufacture. I know people who SWEAR on Tamiya vs. Kyosho, but they all make something that someone out there wants, right?
Kyosho, Tamiya and Associated have been around a LONG TIME so the followers of these manufactures is much larger than others. I am not sure which all manufactures are the oldest and still in business, but these are a good example.
Tired of reading all this??? Cya
