I was just wondering what the most expensive part you have ever broken?

The part the I broke was a steering servo with plastic gears. I was going wide open with my 10T and the right front tire hit a lampost while turning left. The impact destroyed the servo gears. $27 bucks down the drain. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/mad.gif

well i havent broke nothing over $10 bucks yet but the closest i can come is, i was showing off and running my on road race threads. and hite a parking curb in the church parking lot and broke $40 worth of parts and my rear right racing tire (the wheeel on it) was cracked in 3 different spots so once i think about it the tire and wheel isnt good to race any more so i broke $21 or $22 worth of racing tires cause i dont think its smart to buy new wheels and tires and run a new one with a old on on the rear. its sucked tho.

Do batteries count as a "part?" When I was 13, I geared my Losi to the moon and ended up bar-b-queing my nice $50 matched battery pack in the process. No bueno!! http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/wink.gif

My most expemsive crash was with an Aeromarine 42" SprintCat Hydroplane. I had a blow over at full throttle and just stood there and watched my new $4000 boat fly to pieces and sink. Total loss never recovered. Now an artificial reef at the bottom of the lake. I had a $500 .90 OPS Race prepped motor.

Hmm, probably myself cause since i started all money tends to end up going to RC! But probably my traxxas rustler went whacky and went in to the channel in the back yard.

I had modified my RC10GT's engine mounts to install 22/66 gears along with my Picco 12. I took the car over to my buddys house. My friend allowed his dog to come out with us. I was making a run down the road, and man this thing was flying. When I brought it back, the dog tried to attack the car. The Gt was going in the neighborhood of 40mph. It busted both bones in the dog's lower leg. Surgery and the emergency room visit set us back $700. I just had to re-glue the right front tire on my GT.

I was running my RC10GT on my driveway and smacked it in to the basketball poll and broke the front a-arm. It costed 7 bucks to replace the arm.

Shaggy mutt,
I am just wondering why you think so lowly of me? I did not hit the dog on purpose, heck I even tried to stop. I felt very bad when it happened. My buddy didn't blame me, it wasn't really my fault. The dog had never been exposed to RC cars before and will never be exposed to them again. I have broke many expensive parts in my years of RC, but the topic was the most expensive. Since the dog needing surgery was because of my RC, I thought it would qualify. Sorry if I upset anyone.

I was practicing at my local offroad track and we built a jump out of a sheet of plywood and a 35 gallon drum. The other guys were jumping stock buggies(boring) so i brought out my NXT/picco with stampede tires http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/eek.gif full throttle over the jump at about 35! Well it landed tail first almost vertical. Then the throttle stuck becausse the battery unplugged sending it into the wall wide open. I shut it down quick so the engine didn't go.
I went back to my pit table to look over the damage to find that the chassis was bent so the spur crushed the clutch bearings, the bulkhead, ball STUD, and, get this the steering bellcrank!!

Gubbs, gotta get OFF the throttle & touch the brakes mid-air to prevent that!!!!!!

I forgot something too...I sheared my Kyosho Hi-Rider's front right tire/suspension completely off my truck after clipping my dad's TRACTOR when I was 13. That was expensive (at least to me) when paying w/allowance $$ for repairs!

During a speed run at a velodrome, my 10L, totally equipped with every available hop-up, and running a 9turn quad with 10 cells, decided to get a little air under the chassis at somewhere in the neighborhood of 70 miles an hour, lifting the front end just enough to eliminate my ability to turn the car. The car shattered a section of 10x2 board around the base of the track wall. Needless to say, not much remained of the car. In fact, there were absolutely no usable parts left, not even the batteries or motor survived. Approximate cost: $500.00

Once out on the farm I launched my modded Fast Traxx off a rock, they don't fly too well, landed upside down on a rock, shattered the bodyshell, rear gearbox assembly, the shocks, and stuffed two motors.

Total cost - $60AUD, a shattered ego (I was 8 at the time), and a very embarassing video that my brother shot of the incident. (I got him back though, told him that scorchers could swim in water, heh heh heh, total cost to him - $110AUD, total cost to me, 2 front teeth knocked out and a wedgie)

i broke a rear arm on my t3 as it went off a 2.5 foot ramp on the sidewalk at 35mph. I had a nine double, otherwise, you simply cant break the t3
