I am curious as to how long you guys are spending on your bodies. Whenever I paint a MT body it usually takes 5-10hrs. This includes prep, curing, and finishing. How long does it take you?

last body I just finished, and will hopefully be posted in this competition took me a little over 30 hours of work. But then again, quite a bit of it was bristle brush work. Others I've done took me 7-12 hours, depending on how patient I am.

Thank God!!!!! I was being modest when I stated 5-10 hrs of time!! I usually take close to 15hrs and was starting to feel as though I were taking too much time!!

well, when you figure in mixing time, admiring time, a little spritz here and there, and more admiring time, it adds up pretty quick. Besides, doing masking eats up time as well.

I wasn't counting the masks.

Well, I don't factor in drying time because I do many bodies at one time, and I often let bodies dry overnight. That includes liquid mask drying time.
Aside from that, most bodies take me 1-2 hours actual labor time to complete.

Admiring time...... thats funny. I spend 8-9 hours on a body, however, if I remove the admiring time it's more like 5-6 hours. Let's all work safely out there, I don't want to hear of anyone dislocating a shoulder while patting themselves on the back during admiring time.

I spend like 3 to 4 hours on a body. I used to spend more time on bodies but then that I won't run it so it just sits there so I've stopped doing very detailed bodies.

Myst, yeah, I can see what you mean...if I had the ability to do the kind of detail work on a body that you do and put a lot of effort into it, I wouldn't want to use it either. Guess I'm fairly lucky in being so artistically declined. :D

i dont have an airbrush, a steady hand, a creative mind, or enough driving skill to now destroy a body, with that said, last body i painted took about an hour and a half, and its the best body ive done to date

This one was done in about 3 hours. I figure its good enough for the track, looks better then TRF Drive Hard 's car when it's sitting next to it :D , easy to see, I don't care if I bash it to bits and it's not one color.
1. Design - 5 minutes lol :)
2. Masking - 10 to 15 minutes
3. Cutting the black lines - 1 hour
4 Spraying 30 minutes
5. Running out to the store to get more white, 20 minutes (includes muttering in anger time)
6. Cutting it out and stickering 30 minutes (Thank God for precut stickers!)

i finished a mini-t body in this forum somewhere and that body took me 4hrs- it could have taken me less time if I didn't leave it sitting around forever!!

I dig the color combination. It should be easy to spot on the track.
