i bought a used miss bud 1/12 about 2 weeks ago and i think all the proplems are now finaly fixed(carb tuneing, shaft and tube, weak hule, carb linkege ect)but the one problem that i just can't get right is the radio gear,i replaced the stock 4 cell pack with a 7 cell 650 mah pack mooved the antenna from the port to starboard side and add a longer antenna tube and i'm still only getting about 60-80 ft.of range.is it the tx or rx is there a cheap upgrade for this problem.it just does'nt seem like a boat this fast should have to stay in an 80 ft.radius.it's like putting A ferrari on a go-cart track,WHAT'S THE PROBLEM?

7.2 volts into a receiver? Most receivers are only designed for 6.0 volts. What about a 6 volt 1100mah pack? Next question, how good are the transmitter batteries? Next question, is the receiver antenna any good? If it's got a break in it, it won't have near the range it should. What about the transmitter antenna? Strange as it may sound, they can go bad. My recomendation is to borrow a radio set from somewhere and start by swapping receivers and see if it helps. If not, put back the original and try a different transmitter. I would do this with the 4.8 volt pack, just in case the 7.2 burned up the receiver. This should narrow down the problem to one or the other.

I had the same problem with mine and my antenna wasnt pulled up far enough. Now it will go just about out of sight.
