RC America and Ralph Burch Jr., multi-time national champion driver, are the new exclusive distributors for Hudy and XRAY products in the USA. For more information on Hudy products, visit www.hudy.net, and for information on XRAY products, visit www.teamxray.com. The website for RC America can be found at www.rcamerica.com.

This is all new information that we just got not too long ago. As far as I know, the street price for the XB8 is still supposed to be in the 650 range, but it's been a while since I've confirmed it. Things may have changed in the last couple months.

NNOOOOOOO
As a hobby shop employee and an XRAY T1 owner, this is REALLY bad news to me.

Some may consider Horizon to be evil, but they're so easy to get parts from....RC America had better be good...or I'm getting a Losi....:D

Nobody said that XRAY product would no longer be available through Horizon. This is how foundationless rumors get started. The Hudy and XRAY product will now come into the US through RC America. From there it can still go to Horizon or any other distributor that wishes to carry them. There is no information to suggest that anything is changing other than the address to which the products are shipped here in the States.

I guess my suspicions were right; I did talk to Ralph Burch today. :)

And I was informed that 'at present we won't be selling through Horizon'.....
Are you sure about that Steve? It would be stupid for Xray to ship to RCAmerica then have then ship to Horizon.I cant imagine the markup Horizon will have after getting it from RCAmerica. This hobby needs to get away from Great Plains and Horizon.

A lot of companies prefer to stick with direct selling through a trained representative for theiir company, especially where the product is technical.

There is also question of main line support. Horizon has their own 1/8 buggy and touring car, and also has their own company product for several other areas that X-rary may be looking to expand into with their new facility. It places Horizon in a situation where they have a bit of a conflict of interest.

That situation gets eliminated by X-ray establishing a dedicated distributor. Some may argue that Serpent USA was a dedicated distributor, but if yoouo've ever tried asking questions or getting parts from them it was clear that Serpent was priority 1, followed by Hudy and X-ray seemed to be but an afterthought.

I have every confidence that RC America will not just meet, but improve the parts andn support situations in North America...and all it takes is foro your LHS to set up an account with them. :D

i just called them. they said that the XB8 is going to be around $650 and that it will be in hobby shops this month. they are just waiting to get them into their warehouse but they are "in transit". he said that if you want one tell your LHS to order them cause 1/2 of them are already ordered and its only been like 3 days. so if you really want one order it NOW!

Hmm...I'm gonna have to mention this to my boss. We don't sell much in the way of electric tourers or 1/8 scale buggies...as the racing scene around here isn't all that strong...not weak...but not particularly strong either...but maybe. I want to get into electric on-road racing w/ my fellow employees...and these XRay machines would definately be competetive. Sounds like it's gonna be easy to get parts for them through this distributor too!
