It may not be competitive but I wanted to join at local indoor track club for the fun. Since the club is 40 mins drive from my home so I don't care about adjustable suspension as I don't have any local hall to set up.
Shaft drive is preferable as I want a minumin maintance with less fuss.
I have looked at Tamiya's website, to be honest, I'm confused with their labelling of cars, rather than in touring car, off road, rally sections! Any helps would be appreciated! Thanks

Indoor carpet track? Why not go for a TC3? Do you have radio and electronics gear? If not and seeing as how you just want something cheap for fun then an RTR kit would be for you. The TC3 RTR is a great kit. But if you want a Tamiya, they have what they call an Expert Built series. Just surf Tower for pictures or www.tamiyausa.com for whatever you want. But the TC3 RTR is the best deal. Just click here http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXAHH0&P=ML Another option would be the XXX-S RTR kit.

Get A Xxx-s Rtr. You Can Hop Up As You Replace Parts. It Also Has An Enclosed Drivetrain.
Tc-3 And All The Other Shaft Drive Cars Have Torque Steer To Deal With. That's One More Thing You'll Have To Deal With On Your Setup.

get an xray t1r, it can be had for not too much money and will hang with any of the high end tourers. Only downside for you might be the number of adjustability options, although as long as you only make changes one at a time u should be fine.
