My new ESC has my car doing funky stuff. I just purchased a Traxxas XL-1 ESC and it has caused nothing but problems. The ESC is supposed to be up to 17T but I don't think it can handle my 17T Sahpire Speed Gem. The car drives great for 2 laps of the local track than the steering starts to veir of to he right. If I continue to countersteer the turn the car would eventually loose complete control and take off into the wall. No one else had the same frequency as I. Does this sound like an ESC problem? Does mounting my receiver near the ESC effect its performance? I had no problems with this car with the MSC. Help http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/confused.gif

The mounting location could be the problem, but it sounds more likely that the voltage regulator providing power to the receiver through the ESC isn't functioning properly. Contact you local hobby shop that sold you the speed control to see if they can help you diagnose the problem, or contact Traxxas directly. They have very good customer service.

Two things I'd like to suggest that may help eliminate your radio problems.
1.) Check to make sure that all your motor capacitors are soldered to your motor securely and that all the wires are routed correctly.
2.) If possible try to mount the receiver as far away from the speed control. Also, inspect your receiver antenna for any cuts or bends that may hamper proper radio reception and make sure its in an antenna tube or an antenna mast.
Good Luck and Good Racing,
Jeff
