Anyone run and modify these $20 cars yet? Their a blast on 7.5 volts instead of 3v. We are looking for foams, slot car tires maybe?

I just bought one of the durango canned heat cars recently. Mine is stock, but I believe that you can replace the stock wheels and tires with 1/24th scale stuff from your LHS.
Good luck http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

I got a dodge truck one and I was wondering if a mini Z radio would work in it cause my bro has the same frequency as mine and I wanna race him, also is there anyway to tighten up the front wheels cause the right one got loose so now it does doughnuts everytime I turn it.

Go and get the motors for those Tamiya offroad little racing buggys that run on those plastic tracks. Ya know those cars that are like you can hop up but run on a "hotwheels" style track. Anyway put those motos in and they'll fly.

Maxx are you sure that won't fry the boards in the car?

Now that i am not sure of, because the tamyia motors pull a 3V draw, that is what the canned heats operate on, not like the 6V Mini Z. so, if they keep the motor modest, i bet that they can pull it off

I have the Dodge truck for the dog to chase. Then she got bigger and had to move her up to a Tamiya M-03.
It just got too easy for her to catch the canned heat. It would move about a foot, she would put a paw on it and into the mouth it went.
At least they are durable.

I am running 7.5 volts and have not fried anything yet, If your carefull you can pack 5AA alkalines under the body of the 57 Chev and the Audi! Canned Heats are 1/24 Tyco cars with Sweet bodies and a remote that cost $20.

Ok cool I'll try to find one of those motors and then buy a canned heat with more room under the body. Hey speaking of modifying them I was thinking about getting some tin and raising the chassis and putting skid plates on it and mabye even some shocks. What shocks do you guys think would be small enough that they would work? I don't care if their oil or friction shocks, friction might be better though, softer and all.

i have one of those little canned heat things its a great little car i got sick and tired of looking at the coca cola bodie so i took it off and made it look like a sprint car. It was cool i made the frame out of the parts trees that come in my models and i made the wings body ect. out of the cardboard that the model boxes r made of i had so much fun with it i even made a little oval track out of x mas lights (it was around a week before x mas)in the middle of my room it was cool looking till my baby brother stepped on it!!!!! http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/mad.gif but luckly the car it self was ok !!!!!! http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/eek.gif now i just run it around with the body off (it goes faster) but i have the same problem with it spinning doughnuts without command its starting to pi$$ me off well im about to take one of the motors out of my cox zooper airplane and put my bros 1/24 scale slot car wheels on it so i can get some grip with the faster motor well i'll keep u guys updated on the mods toodles. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/tongue.gif

Hey crash how many volts is that cox zooper motor cause if it is too many it'll fry the boards inside the car. That's cool how you made it into a sprint car though.
