View Full Version : Tire traction compound
What brand ( Racer choice / trinity or paragon ) and type do you use and how does it work ?
My track is dusty asphalt and I am running low shore foam tires. What do you recommend ?
Thank you for your help

I personally like the niftec stuff, but its hard to get ahold of it. I commonly use the paragon, although it does smell. With the paragon and niftec, if you let it soak in, you dont have to take a couple laps to get the exess off.

When I used to race on asphalt, I loved the Paragon stuff. Especially the smell.

Jack the Gripper!! Doesn't smell too bad and hasn't melted any of my plastic parts yet.

Before you run sauce, try to get your springs & oil set up (if you haven't already). Tire sauce will most likely attract the dust and you'll loose traction.
Be aware this is just in theory and sauce may be the ticket.

We run asphalt in the summer with out pan cars. If I run harder tires and need more grip I use Trinity Tire Tweak. its almost like putting honey on the tires. Real sticky.
If I run tires with more bite in them then I use Trinity Red Dot. Seems to free the car up. its alot easier to apply compared to the Tire Tweak
Thanks guys for the answers !

Sorry if this seems off topic or a bit strange ,but I was wondering if anyone has ever tried soda pop (sprite, cola etc.) for a added traction to the ground?

At the outdoor track nearby, they'll use soda or sugar water on the ground, then juice the tires with TQ Blue or Orange or Jack the Gripper.
At the indoor carpet track, we use Jack the Gripper and sometimes TQ Orange
