Thats a clevis. It looks like one of the metal ones from Dubro.

On towerhobbies, they have nylon and steel. Which ones are better?

I prefer nylon since they won't transmit any radio noise from the vibrating parts.

I only use nylon in my planes.

Nylon is MORE then strong enough.

If its for a high load area I'd say go with the steel clevises. On my Extra 300s size 60 (with a 91FX) I'm using all steel clevises just to make sure nothing breaks. I've broken a few nylon clevises before and they just don't seem that strong especially if there is a lot of stress on them.

A throttle linkage has almost zero stress.

I still recommend nylon for better noise reduction.

Ok, but this is going on my boat, and all the other ones are metal, so will 1 nylon one make any difference, or will i have to change all of them? I will probably get a pack of 12 (i thinks it is ethier 2 or 12..) so i will have spares.

I already have the threaded rods, so i just need to figure out if it is 2-56 or 4-40.... hmmmm.........

i agree, nylon is strong enough

i have never broken one on my airplanes

If its for the throttle then I'd say nylon. I didn't know if this was an outboard and that clevis was going to be steering the boat.

I don't know about boats but with the planes the push rods are usually 2-56. Try taking a 4-40 screw and see how it is size wise compared to the push rod.

Ok. This is going on the throtle linkage that is coonected to the outboard. It uses a baffle on the exahust instead of anything closing on the carb. yea... i know.. its old.... http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif
