RC Touring cars are all about scale realisim,
so should Touring Cars follow the full size
versions to the rule and run 2WD if you wish
to use 4WD fit an Audi shell and receive a weight penalty. If we follow the same line
why must touring cars be 4 door, why can we not run coupe or GT shells. I use 2WD.

A 2wd RC touring car would be pretty tough to drive. I personally prefer the 4WD because it's so much easier to drive. It's not in keeping with the real cars upon which these RC tourers are based, but I think it's a welcome deviation. I believe it's the desire to maintain appearances consistent with the real cars however, that requires a sedan body on touring cars in most sanctioning organizations. Many of our local tracks are pretty relaxed about that particular rule, so the requirement to run a traditional touring body depends largely on the track.

SteveP, what are your views on racers who choose to drive 4WD being given a handicap
when racing against thier 2WD counterparts,
how about higher weight on the minimum limit.

I don't know that you'd every achieve parity between 2WD and 4WD touring cars. You can make certain adjustments like weight or motor limits, but they're too inherently different to perfectly level the field. We have a racing series here in the US where weight is added to the winner's car every time they finish first. It's not a handicap at first, but as time wears on, more and more weight is added until it's nearly impossible to our run the competition.
I would personally be in favor of keeping the cars in separate classes and without limits.

XXXER - he may be referring to 2WD touring cars like the 10L3T and other similar 200mm rear drive pan cars.

RC MAN, I have an Associated RC10L3T, 190mm
between the rear wheels. It is a pan car but
it can easly be spaced out to 200mm.

FastDad - my mistake; I have nitro on the brain. The 10L3T is supposed to be 190mm to match the width of 4WD electric touring cars.
