I am Martin and I am from Denmark.

Well well. I just saw a Mad Force in action yesterday in the park and I went all crazy about it and asked the guy hundreds of questions. I saw the build quality and I may have been blind. I thought "it looks quality built, so it sure will last longer than cars bought at Toys'r'Us". Anyhow I processed an order with Tower Hobbies, but a little problem occured. The shipping package was too big, so I emailed them and recieved a reply 10 minutes after.

Here is a copy of the mail I sent and a reply aswell:

>> Hi Tower Hobbies.

I have a question regarding the Kyosho Mad Force 1/8 scale Monster Truck RTR KIT, stock item# LXGCD0A1. When I add it to my cart and move on to ship/handle, the page tells me item code "D", which means it is too big to ship to Denmark? I have recently shipped 20-30Kg square boxes to Denmark via UPS. What Parcel Service do you use?

The Traxxas T-Maxx RTR KIT which is about the same size/weight is not stated "D" and can easily be shipped to Denmark according to your site.

I looked at the list of products which are not to be shipped internationally, and the Truck (item LXGCD0A1) was not even on the list? However I went to UPS.com and found that they still do ship packages to Denmark. Under 20kgs (around 45-50lbs)

Again I really want this product. Is there any way this products can still be shipped to Denmark? If not please give be detailed information on the package dimensions so that my sister in law (resident in the US) can order this and then again ship it via UPS herself.

Kind Regards, and thanks in advance.
Martin from Denmark

Here is the mail I recieved 10 minutes ago:

Thank you for writing Tower Hobbies. We use USPS for our international shipments. If an item is placed in the shopping cart and is stated to be too big, it is because USPS will not ship internationally. We can ship the package FedEx international. Orders have to be picked, packed and weighed in order to determine what the FedEx charges will be. This means we would have to receive payment to get your order entered for you. There is a $25.00 fee assessed to have this done, however the fee is deducted if you accept the FedEx charges. Once the shipping cost is figured, we would then make an adjustment to your charge before shipping the package out. We can contact you to let you know what the charge is before we proceed. Please be aware that FedEx international shipping is only available on in stock merchandise. Please provide the shipping (physical address), billing address and payment information if you wish to proceed with FedEx shipment. FedEx requires a phone number where you can be contacted. Please include an email address
or fax number for Tower Hobbies to contact you if need be. Please provide your credit card number and expiration date. We also require the 3 digit security code (CVV2) which is located on the back of the card in the signature strip and follows the last 4 digits of the card. We appreciate your time and your business with us.

------------------------------

So what am I to do? Shall I pay these 25 bucks in advance or go for an item in stock like the Savage 25 or the T-Maxx which can be sent and aren't restricted by freaking USPS shipping policies?

Spareparts are available for all brands in Denmark. I was then thinking of the HPI Savage 25 or the T-Maxx?

Kind Regards Martin

xtm mammoth.

you'll love it. their engines are reliable, and their vehicles are sturdy. its fast and torque, looks good and the long wheelbase is easy to control in the air.

If you want a bigger truck, without the extra charge, get a Savage...they are probably the best big truck there is that is cheap. :)

A T-Maxx is also a good choice. :)

Exactly. I have good thoughts of T-Maxx. But I really like the looks of the Savage 25 and the Mad Force Trucks because they are 1/8 scale. This is not the thing. I want a ROUGH engine aswell

go with savage for all around performance, or mad force for wheelies and jumping.

Then I would say go with the savage...the T-Maxx's 2.5 Engine, while producing good power, is hard to tune for the beginner, from what I have heard.

Phsyko...I wouldnt say the Mad Force is a good jumper...Mine jumped far...but Didnt hold up that well at all...The suspension naturally isnt very good ad absorbing impacts...

Thanks a lot guys you sure have helped me pick the right Truck. I think It will be the HPI Savage25 RTR. I have a Panasonic NV MX-300 DV Camera with a 3CCD chip and Leica lens and a Canon G5 5MPixel Digital Camera. I am using Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5. So be sure to be around in about two weeks whan I get this Savage truck home. I'll post videos and pictures... Savage 25 here I come (until I decide for something else) ahaha

the twin force beat the e-maxx in jumping in the new rcca so why wouldnt the nitro be the same?

Any good suggestions regarding FUEL for a Savage/Mad Force/T-Maxx?

Because Ive owned 2 Tmaxx's, an E-Maxx, and a Mad Force...and the Maxxes Jump a Hell of a lot better. The only reason the Twin Force won was because its 7lbs verses the E-Maxx's 11.

Ive owned Both Nitros, Ive jumped both nitros...the Maxx is better. You dont have to be Head Cashier at the Wal-Mart to know that...

Just take a look at the suspension...Maxxes' is for performance...Force's is for realism.

Surething I will... This Electro Starte 2 Mechanism. Does it work? And does it work everytime?

I know of a few ways to start a RC now.

Pull Start
Roto Start
Electric Start

What is the difference?

Pull Start = Thats self explainitory. ;)
Roto Start = Uses a Shaft to spin the crankshaft, and start the engine.
Bump Start = Uses a Box, with a Rubber Wheel. The wheel spins, and you tap your engines flywheel on the wheel, and it starts the engine that way.

EZ-Start 2 from what I hear is VERY reliable, and uses an electric motor and a series of gears connected to a one way bearing to turn the crank over.

Thats kinda like the way u used to start cars back in the oooold days :)

I am surfin' around over at Tower Hobbies looking for a replacement Remote transmmitter. I am not used to the joystick kinda way. Is this easier than the pin controller way?

Comments?

I guess its whatever you prefer.

95% of the people in the hobby prefer the Pistol Grip style radio (the "joystick") radio as you put it. They are comfortable, and you can drive accurately with them.

Some people just feel that the stick radios are better, but I guess its up to you. If I was you, I would at least try the pistol style radio..you may just like it more. ;) :)
