Would it be ok use a differnt reciever than the stock one, if so would it whats a good one and where do i get it. If not wheres a place I can buy the stock one?

In what boat/radio system? What is your price range and are you sure it is the reciever?

As long as the receiver is the same Freq as the other, it'll work. Make sure the channel crystals are the same too.
Go to www.rcuniverse.com. A lot of people post radios for sale. Though mainly airplane, you'll pick up a 2 or 3 chan system once in a while.

As long as the radio is AM & the crystals are on the same channel then yes, it will work.

As long as your radio is a Jr or Airtronics or KO it will work. If it is a Futaba or Hitec it will not work. They opperate on diffent "shifts."
