I'm new to R/C, I have a touring car already (very few mods) but I am thinking about buying a Losi XXX-T or XXX-T spec. My question is, how much of a performance difference (acceleration, top speed, handling, etc...) is there between Bushings and Ball Bearings, because the XXX-T comes with ball bearings where as the XXX-T spec comes with bushings. Any help with this is much appreciated.

bushings are good to start with, but eventually you should upgrade to ballbearings. Bearings reduce rolling friction, so as to help create better run times, help on top speed, an so on. If you can afford to get the bearings, get them, if not then make that one of your first upgrades.

I say go with bearings from the start. They make cars go way faster, and if you forget to put oil on them its not as bad as not oiling bushings

get the regular xxx then you won't have to worry about geting them later. Or you could get the spec xxx and bearings and never instal the bushings. This way you can still get all the cool looking blue pats the spec comes with.

Bushings are considerably better and are worth the money, just get quality bearings.

i'm asuming you meant to type bearings not bushings

Get the bearings from the start. Put them in while your building the car. They are a HUGE improvement over bushings and really don't cost that much even if you purchase them separately as a set.

Pay the extra money for the regular kit...not the dirt spec. I have the XXX-T and it is worht paying extra money for it. I really don't like those blue tires also! LOL

Badracer, what besides the bearings and tires makes the XXX-T worth 50 dollors more? And thanks everyone for the advice.

Your just gonna have to trust me on this. If you go for the dirt spec look and see how much a GOOD bearing set will cost you, just look at it that way!
