For some odd reason, when my RC is at a dead stop and i press the trigger on the radio, it wont do anything. But if i hold the trigger down and give the car a little push it will then start moving. I have a novak fusion ESC and i forgot what brand motor. What could it be?

Might be a brush(s). Do you have voltage at the motor when it's doing this (not moving despite some throttle)? If so, then my money is on brushes.

i dont have access to a voltmeter. But i'll go pick up some new brushes. the motor is pretty old so im not suprised it would be the brushes. can i find brushes at my LHS?

Yup, its the brushes. Once they get older, and smaller, it decreases the amount it pushes on the comm. Any quality lhs should carry brushes. Make sure you get the correct size, there are standup, laydown, and p94.

You might have them retry your com on the motor. It will need it.

Change your brushes and springs and while you are in there see if your LHS can cut your comm.
