I've heard of people running a DeWalt or Bosch cordless drill motors in E-Maxxes. They are supposedly pretty fast. :)

my dad has this drill its called a hammer drill. Man that motor is powerfull. He was able to drill 4 feet into concrete with it and the drill did it with no prob. I dont know who makes it but I wanna see what it would do in a E-Maxx or other electric car/truck

Well, its made my DeWalt...but, thats a black and decker company...kinda like how a Silverado is made by Chevy, but its a GM name...same with DeWalt.

ironically i am in business school and today we are discussing how B&D had to promote DeWalt because B&D was getting killed in the tradesmen tool segment!!
This parallels Duratrax right now getting a certain racer to help them out ;)

A hammer drill is simply a drill designed for masonry(concrete, cinder blocks, mortar, ect.)
Lots of companies besides B+D/DeWalt make them.

I wonder who makes the DeWalt motors? Are they Mabuchi or Johnson or some other brand?

DeWalt makes their own motors. My wife works in B&D/DeWalt's training center, so if you need any more info...

14v dewalt motors.....3000rpm max, but extremely torquey. Would make good crawlers at best.

I've seen an 18v run. It wasn't a crawler.

Just add a tall pinion and a short spur...

Well these arent DeWalts, they're Ryobi's. I use two rc relays until i can get some esc's and use 8 cell NiCad 1500 packs. The radio is a Airtronics VG400, which is still on 72mhz FM. :p I never really use it, made it for a school science fair.
