I always wonderd if my boat could float upside down, well I found out today .I was running on my favorite pond when I pushed it to hard into a turn and ,in a blink of an eye she flipped ,and quit on me.It flaots real good but I hate cleaning all the water out .I am glad I ballooned the rx and batteries ,but my servos got wet and one isnt funtioning ,so I have to dry it out and try it again.

They do that, you know. I have a Prather DV-40 that doesn't have to be pushed hard to get it to flip, in fact it takes considerable babying to keep it upright. Needless to say, I've never raced it even though it has a good turn of speed.

I am going to have to stock up on servos .I am looking for water proof ones right now ,but cant find any .I balloned my rx and it still got wet.It is hard to keep water out of this thing ,but I ran today and it CRANKS!!!! :D .Well, lets face it ,these boats are more fun when they are pushed ,but when you flipp ,you have alot of work getting the water out.I wish I could fit a water proof box in mine, but there is just no room.

Can you make a waterproof compartment? Most of the outrigger type hydros have no room for a watertight box, so they make a bulkhead watertight, then it's just a matter of fitting the cover to be waterproof.

Im not sure .I tried a zip lock bag but its not perfect .It has 3 tiny holes in it two for the throttle and steering ,and one for the anttena wire.

The best I've ever seen is a water resistant one. I would still baloon the receiver and maybe the battery pack, regardless of how well you think you did on waterproofing the box.

You can also use a conformal epoxy on the receiver it is made by 3M and it is a DP-270. Here is a link on how to do this modification.

You can also dip you servos in plasti-dip or paint them with liquid electricians tape. Either will work .....
Hope this helps!

I bought some Amsoil MP (metal protectant) a few weeks ago after hearing raves about it on another forum. Folks have said that you coat the insides down real good and let it dry. If it gets wet, then take it apart and spray it down and it should be good to go. Talk to your Amsoil guy or I can hook you up with mine.
For the record, I haven't used it yet but will soon.

I use it on the connectors and around the shaft, not sure if it helps much, I started doing it at the same time I plastidipped the servos ...
