The TC3's has proven that shaft drives are quick. This was shown during the "World's race " in Japan. And now Tamiya has a new contender with the TB Evolution, which this magazine has noted to have good potentials. My question is which is really better? Shaft or Belt? or is it the driver that counts at the end of the day.

I might get a touring car soon and I would go with the shaft drive because
1. Debris can't affect the shaft whereas it could eaisily foul up a belt
2. No belts to replace after they get worn.
that is my opinion.
I would say it is a 75% driving skills and 25% gear. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

A belt car is much smoother.

A shaft car is somewhat more efficient. Not as much as most think, since you are adding two gearboxes into the equation, but it is slightly more efficeint.

I prefer a belt car. The belt stretch slightly under heavy acceleration, making the car easier to drive. Driving the TC3 in mod is ver different than a good belt car.

See ya....
