New for the Pro 4 electric touring car from HPI Racing is a One-way Gear Brace for the #75140 Front One-Way Differential. The purple anodized machined aluminum brace adds support for the 39T bevel gear, providing extra durability that helps protect the drivertrain from crash damage.

First off, they should have made that piece integral to the kit already... why bother making it an addition? the tamiya kits such as the evo3 come with such a brace for their one-way units... to me thats a perfect 10 bucks useless added to the car...

The brace on that picture looks scratched quite badly...

There is as well a new 1.1 version of the gears. I guess it will be implemented on all kits...
Watch the new gears on left side against the old on right side:

Hmm... Seems that HPI can't get out of its rut. Design something new, rush it out to get market share back and then use the wrong plastics. I have heard this song from HPI before. NO THANKS!
Good to see some familiar names from the past though!

IIRC the brace and new version gears are included in the latest runs of Pro 4 kits.
Yes, good to see Dr Diff and Franck are still here and alive !
I am sure some remember me as being the old HPI truck forum moderator ( Nitro MT was HPI latest car )
Since then, I had a Savage and now a Brushless Pro 4...
Cheers !

Hi DFF, good to 'see' you again :D
TRF - your friend could have waited a little longer before selling his car, but oh well.

Well he didnt feel the need to spend more money to fix it... its his first high-end racing kit... with the money spent he could have saved a bit more... had he not got the pro4 he would have gotten the 415 instead...
