Jeep and Stevep,
Why don't you guys get together and feature some of Jeep customs in the magazine? They are a riot, show a lot of creativity and he writes well enough to at least assist if not write the article. I am a huge fan of seeing readers custom rides in the magazine! I know at least the forum attenders would get a huge kick out of seeing them in print.

Hey thanks HM !
That is a bigger compliment than you may have thought.
I am willing to do it, but in the real world there always seem to be these weird rules. Especialy in publishing.
Steve is going to say that if I want my stuff published to submit it and they will look over it. Well, maybe I will, but I doubt it will have much of a chance because my parts are not all shiny and brand new (in many ways, the entire point to me building it).
I think my website fairly well works for my needs. I don't have to be formal, I apear as the "regular guy" that I am, and I have complete control over content. All these attributes are lost when going mainstream (oh no, not that word again :p ).
My biggest problem I have is describing the amount of thought and work I put into my unique kits. I always feel like I did not get enough accross. When I go all out and describe every detail it ends up being WAY too long and I doubt anyone reads the whole thing. The Traxxas Villain article that I wrote about 4 years ago, on my website, is an example of this. Too much information !
So that fine line, the balance if you will, is hard for me to find :(
BTW, I am going to get video of my NEW AND IMPROVED fan car at the track fairly soon. You all are gonna freak out and how fast and agile it is ...

lol, I'm sure it will rock! I'd still love to see your stuff in the mag. In fact, you've inspired me to build a jet dragster over the winter! While I would rather use a micro jet, at $3000 there is no way I can convince the wife it's worth it, so I am going to do it with a ducted fan. I'm not much of an engineer so I am just hoping it doesn't come out looking like Spanky's (from Little Rascals) soap box derby box car.

Ii think it's a good idea. Maybe after things settle down from the show, we can get in touch with each other and see which car would be the best choice (assuming jeep wants to do this). I'll run it by Pete and see what he thinks.

Haunted... I'm a mechanical engineer with about 10,000 hours on Pro/ENGINEER focusing on equipment and mechanism design... Since I hear your not much of an engineer, if you need any of your ideas "drawn" up, let me know... I'd love to help out. ;)

Once again, a wonderful example of what makes North America great. A group of people with diverse backgrounds getting together to a common goal. I'm impressed!!!

Thanks Dark! I am going to the show tomorrow to get some ideas on available chassis and other parts to see if I can pulll it off. "Not much of an engineer" is really an over statement. I'm lucky to be able to change light bulbs around my house. On a good note, my pops makes McGyver look like the Barney Fife of creativity and he's only 30 minutes away. Thank you again and I will be in touch!
