Hi,
My 1st plane was a 3ch from HK very similar to the Aerobird, with a T tail (I like more T then a V tail I should say) and just on-off for main motor (got to proportional with just changing the TX)
Since it was my first, it had a lot of crashes, and the weak area was almost always the main wing.
I recently exchange the the standard mini-plug with a golded regular Tamiya plug ... and I just replaced the 6 NiCd with a 2S2P Lipo ... as consequence I got much more power out of the propeller.
Due to the increased power, due to the still far to be accurate flying (lot of recovery from a speed nose down) and due to the windy area, the main wing get a lot of stress .... and as result most of the time I just land nose down, because the main wing got broken while flying in the air !
I also got a second cheap clone from eBay, the clone was so crappy that the radio was having just 50 feet range ... so no way to fly it ... I just used the main wing (100% compatible) with my 1st plane ... in the first fly ... while I was doing very well ... the wing broken again ... it was new sigh...
SO far I just found a source in US that for 7$ each thy sell the main wing for these planes ... does anybody know a source in Europe , and/or the best way to reinforce the wing ?
With my old wing, at the end the only way to use it is to add some cords in order to fix 4 point of the wing back to the main airplane-body ... since I used textile cotton for do this, it always need some work since it is quite weak, and it also can cause further damage in case of bad landing ...
