xxxt stock gearing

Ive been playing around with gearing my xxx-t a lot lately, just to see the fine changes that a one or two tooth change makes. I race stricty stock at the moment, and my best gear ratio for most hard packed tracks has been 19/86. What do some of you guys use? What type of track are you on?

Also, it seems like no matter what gear I throw on the motor I cannot keep it from getting hot when I run it in the grass. I know the grass creates a little more drag, but should the motor get that much hotter from it? It gets so hot you cant touch it even with a 19t pinion. And thats a low gear for a stock. So far ive tried 20,21,22,23. All get very hot. Any suggestions?

dont run it in the grass. no matter what you run it will get hot. even my emaxx gets hot just testing it in the front of the house. if your running on a tight track try using a p2k2 with a 21 or 22 tooth pinion
