not a dumb discharger question

i just made a bulb discharger after lots of tread reading .everyone says use 1157 bulbs. pics show 1156. 1157s have 2 filaments,1156 1.got to soldering last bulb (1157) noticed it says 4A.did i make 40 amp discharge ? peace.

Your right about the difference between the 1156 and 1157. I'm planning on making a discharger too, so I did some research on the bulbs. From what I could find, both bulbs have the same amp draw (about 2 amps). You're probably okay with the 1157s but I went and got the 1156s anyway.

stick with the 1156's

I use the dual element bulbs, both 1156 & 1157 will discharge at same levels.
