Scott,
I purchased this hull about 2 weeks ago.I will say that with the 260 zen, this baby handles like it is on rails. The motor pushes along at a good clip.I have people stopping and watching every time I take it for a spin.
Wish you the best of luck with yours.I plan on a second hull in the winter.

We spoke via email but once again, the boat looks freakin' sweet!
Not to take anything away from your thread bud, but after seeing one of your Sweethearts with a Sweetheart, I've got to post this:
(recognize the boat?) :)

Ah pity da foo that runs into your boat! :D Sweet paint job, you have a ton of work into it and it shows. I quit doing trick paint work on mine as it seemed to draw other boats to them.

Ron, thats my thoughts exactly. Got tired of the nervous breakdowns worrying about getting banged up. Still do, though just not as bad. LOL

Where did you get the metallic paint?
Doubledog
07-18-2004, 03:38 AM
If you're talking about the blue base thats metalllic, then thats the gelcoat used from the maker. Looks sweet doesn't it.

jamies right
the boat had the blue /silver gelcoat when i got it well actually what looks like silver really isnt
its a hologram type pearl/metallic that throws off different colors when the sun hits it
in indoor type lighting it looks silverish but in the sun ut looks blue or orange depending how the light is hitting it
i just did the graphics heres what it looked like when i bought it
rest of the paint is createx auto air
the dark flame outlines on the sponsons are color changing from blue to green
the orange flames are candy orange sprayyed over a heavy pearl white base with irridesent blue shading
the windows and boat name are "mirror "sticker i got at my LHS
dragons are pearl purple
shot through my badger 175 and 360
all freehand drawn by me

Scott, yes I did buy a for a buck hull from vern.I powered it with a 260 zen. This hull is actually better made through Central illinois powerboats.I have one of there 57 inch apache boats.they do make a rock solid hull.I want a 48 off shore through them but they are having problems with there mold.
The boat I have is silver into purple, sparkles big time in the light. Both boats will be displayed here in good old hollywood Md at the local hobbie shop thursday through sunday while I am on Vacation.
I have been busy, put these two together in about three weeks of evenings.
The next project will be set up for complete show, ballantine hardware, bonzi staged motor .....the works.I will make that a winter project.I paid out of pocket a bit to much here lately.$$$$$$ goes fast into a gas boat.
Lets see some pics

mines almost all the way together still aiting on a pipe to finish it off
where is hollywood MD?
we used to go down to port deposit/conewingo dam area when i had a real boat
my next boat will be a hydro
i wouldnt mind finding a wooden kit to work on over the winter otherwise it will have to wait
that one will be my "speed demon"boat
what hardware are you running on you verns hull?
ive got all speedmaster stuff on mione
going to start off with an ABC G20 prop
well see how she runs with that for now

scott,
I am running a 260 zen with wharehouse hobbies xp outdrive and a prather 275 prop.the outdrive has no stand off bracket.I swear this boat handles like it is on rails.
CIP makes the best hull.I have there apache 57 inch hull.
Will post pics next week.
