Radio interference

I just purchased a Hitec 3ch 2stk FM radio, Ranger III to use with my boat. The AM gave me very little trouble till at a distance. I was hoping to improve on that, but the FM gets all out of shape just a foot away when I quickly control the big steering servo, but nothing when I move the throttle or if I put a small servo in the place of the big one. My big servo is from hobbico and was to big to fit in the pre cut hole on the radio tray from WHH. Does anyone have any suggestions besides changing servo's? That will be my last choice.

I've got one also and love it. Haven't had a lick of trouble out of it yet so I'm wondering whats the problem with your's.

Any push rods touching metal somewhere's?

Antenna touching anything?

Have you changed the spark plug to a non-resistor type? (by chance)

Batteries charged good?
