I think they could have picked something better. such as the monkey junior or the tranxas eagle sprinter, or the lowrider, or something more custom. It was all store bot accept the shock towers, drivers shield, and roll cage. heack i have a sprinter that could run cirlcles around that one and it electrioc. It has a home made aluminum chassie, roll cage, front end and a custom brace for the rear end. though its not done yet though.

Stop ragging on some guys project. Since you project "isn't done yet" how can it be better?
As soon as you submit something better then MAYBE you can gripe, but all you guys ever say is "Oh, it's not done yet." or "Yeah my friends car is better, but the camera was out of film and his house burnt down.", etc. etc. etc.
Please drop this jealousy stuff.

the smaxx is also a very good choice. the thing they picked had less custom parts then most clod tube frames (then again they win alot of the time) honestly, all this thing had was, 2 ugly "custom" shock towers, a fiberglass chassis, and it was offset, oh yea, it also has a custom roll bar.
the guy bought all of the components from barts, it even says so in the article. wait no, he was able to use a drill, and maybe even a rag to polish it.
before i start saying some other stuff, WHO DECIEDES THIS? honest, i am not joking, is it voted on by people, or what?

Answers to the questions in this post:
1. We chose them!
2. We select them from the READERS RIDES Section only that were featured in the previous years (12 months) issues.
3. They must have APPEARED in the magazine, not on the web, your mind, a manufacturers ad, or your frig.
4. If you don't like it that's OK, but if this posts heads the route of the previous thread (poof) it's gone. Don't rag on other peoples hard work, post a pic of yours and let's see how many comments arise.
Yes I answered some imaginary questions, but this post got old before. BE NICE!
Derek
4. I agree there are a lot of cool projects, but we have to have a picture sent in, so if you know or have a cool project sends us a picture.

I liked the choice of RCCA, though, last year, the guy that one, very cool truck, but i thought that the OVERKILL truck was cooler, so what, my opinion does not count, I don't work for RCCA...........unless, LOL

The sprinter that won this year I thought was pretty nice-- but, I don't feel it lives up to the standards of some of the old (early to mid 90's issues) readers ride of the years: the ducted-fan batmobile; the assault vehicle based on the bruiser with an onboard CCD, rocket launchers, and flamethrower, or the Conley V-8 powered altered, just to name a few. I haven't subscribed to RCCA since 1996 (I got out of the hobby when my local track closed in late 95, I just got re-started this year with nitro, whee!). So you might feel it wasn't the best choice, but don't start putting down the guys car. Discussing what you felt was better and in what ways is cool, but don't flat out rip on this years winner.

I like the choice. Sure, there was alot of nice rides to choose from this year, but the sprinter is a job well done. It doesn't bother me that Bart's parts were used. Anyone here make a set of headers lately?? Looks tough to me. Nice job on the custom mounts too. Very realistic.
