Hello everyone,

Been away from the hobby and the board for many months, but finally getting the time to fly again.

Hi to Dave R. and all my friends on the board. Looks like I have a lot of threads to catch up on, but I am looking forward to seeing what you are all up to. I also noticed that the board has a new look and features.

Hello Dale,
Welcome back. You really do have some catching up, but at the same time I bet it really is good to be active in this neat hobby again. I will be loking forward to your insightful posts as you jump in from time-time.
Cheers, Dave

Thanks Dave. I was still with you guys in spirit. By the way, I really like Medley. Nice touch to see a small one with the ol' timer look to it.

I limbered by thumbs back up on the GW Sport. It always makes me think I'm a better pilot than I really am. :) That plane always brings a smile to my face.

The building table was left with a completed wing for the Defender and I will probably finish that one up before going on to something else.

Hi Mr. Belgy man dude,

I did not make it to Seff, I was very busy at work and during the winter I usually get pretty entagled with ham radio that I have been involved in for 30 years, but it's good to be flying again. I was cruising the forum and even my wife asked if you were still around. I said "yes, and he probably has 20 GWS planes by now" :D

I have been trying to catch up on all of the threads and browsing the vendors for new gadgets. Nice to see brushless pricing coming down. I think my son is going to grab one pretty soon. Maybe I will grab it when he is not looking and stick it into the zero or something. ;)

It is good to here from you and when you have time I would be interested in what you have been flying. I'm sure you have been through a few planes in the months I have been away.

well lets see

i haven't really been building much of anything new until i got home from Seff
on the build table prior to Seff

new gws zero and p-51
new A-10 w/ edf 300h motors

still got the 48" 109 it should be done in the next month or so (i have now accumulated all the innards for it and can begin modifications)

I did get one of the first GWS TM 400's available (build and maiden review posted...it's one of my favorites right now)

lets see bought a used Slinger for 40 bucks (yes i have a wing thing now)
and an old HL Cap which needed some covering and electronics ..still waitng on the motor mount adapter (mega 16/15/4 @2:1 in this bird)

After Seff
i came home with two Mountain Models kits
Mini Flash and Cessna

and a completely top secret kit that is not really in production yet
but i talked the Designer into selling me one of the show kits

so as you can see there will be a whole new load of maidens and reports coming sooner than the GWS DC-3 ....lol

Glad your Back

Chuck

P.S. SEFF was a really great time and quite a HUGE event this year

Alright Chuck,

You have enough to keep you busy for a while. That 48" 109 ought to be fun.

I also built one of the MM Cessnas a while back. It goes together real nice, but I managed to build a twist into the wing and had quite a time getting it out. That is the only IPS powered plane that I use 8.4 volts on. It seems on the edge using the 7.4 lipos. Turns like an aileron plane, but is sensitive to tip stalling. When I saw Martin's I just had to have one. Mine does not look quite as nice as his, but few are.

I have been contemplating buying one of the MM SmoothE's. That would be a good one for the windy days and adrenaline rushes. My windy day flyer is boring because I have owned it so long. Time for something different.

I had a feeling you would have a TM 400. I will look for your review.

Thanks for the aircraft update and good luck with the new builds!

Cessna + Homebuilt CD-Rom BL = plenty of power on 7.4 volt lipo

been using the Pico Stick FD as a Test Bed for this set up

Pico stick pulls consecutive loops from level, and climbs inverted

Perfect set up for the Cessna (hypothesis) :D
