I'm in a situation where I need to completly glue a ball diff together. The threads in the pressure plate stripped and there is no way to fix it, other then J-B weldling the diff together.

So, since I will have one no-spin diff and one 'normal' diff. Which end do you think I should have the no-spin diff? Front or Rear? It's an electric 4-Tec. I'm thinking rear.

I'm racing this weekend, and my spare parts will not be in on time.

Put the locked diff up front. Its actually a common thing drivers do when racing rubber tires (and sometimes foam too), put a "spool" (locked) diff up front to improve breaking and make the car more predictable. It will naturally take some adjustment of your driving style, but depending on the track it could possibly be much faster than a normal diff. Putting it in the rear would be bad, you'll spin out like crazy.

lmao, had the same problem. I just left it in the rear, but as psbarger says, it'll make it nice and squirrely. I know this for a fact. Trust me.

I put the JB welded diff in the front. Cornered real nice. In fact, too nice. However, when I went over a crack in the pavement that cause the car to lift off the ground a little, I would lose control of the car once it landed. I'm sure with a 'normal' diff it wouldn't do that. Oh ya, the JB weld added alot of weight to the diff. Mucho rotating mass! Didn't really notice any real wear on the tires.

Lotsa on-power steering i'm willing to bet :)
