ABS Bad for Servos?

I just wanted to get opinions on this topic. I have heard that using the ABS feature (or ALB for Airtronics) is bad for servos and shortens thier life considerably. Is it true? From an electrical standpoint, most of the internals are solid state. So I can't see how that would affect them too bad. What are your thoughts?

It may be due to the stress applied on the servo gears when they change direction so rapidly. But that's just a guess. From my experience servos tend to last quite a long time so any negative impact ABS or ALB could have on them should be neglegible.
