ok, i saved a 3 1/2 year old traxxas bandit from a cold garage of my friend's... i picked it up for 30 bucks u.s. (50 canadian)... that is the rtr version with tq radio, etc...
anyways, i totally stripped it down and cleaned it, and im rebuilding the tranny (waiting to get some bearings for it first)... im gonna put my old midnight 2 in it, as well as my old futaba esc... this will be run on my indoor carpet track for now (its winter)...
anyways, it is going extremely well... i just have a few questions... is there an mip cvd kit i can buy for it??? also, what kind of body would fit it? besides the stock one... i need a new body for it, but will one that fits the b3 fit it???
i know this wont be a very racable car, but it will be fun to mess around with... i think a good save for 50 bucks (canadian)...
oh yeah will normal buggie wheels fit on this thing? or does this have a different size? i dont know this because i only own trucks.....
hopefully a bandit owner can help me out here....
one more thing lol... it isn't a ball diff in it is it?

The Bandit uses basically all the same parts as the rustler except for the arms, wheels, spur gear, and other small stuff like that etc.
What's so funny about not having a ball diff. It has a gear diif that is basically indestructible. The Bandit wasn't marketed for racing so they put a tuff gear diff in it which runs fine and smooth. You can put the Pro Ball diff in it if you like just so that you have a ball diff. But why? If you ain't gone race it why put a diff in it that is more "delicate" and will require a tad more mateinance.

i was laughing that i posted so much....
i just was wondering if it was ball.... curious... yes, it is actually better quality than i though it would be.... i just need bearings for the tranny now... eventually i would maybe like to race it to see how it fares.... but for the most part just on my track here...
um... so i wonder if cvd kit for the rustler would fit this... also, if the wheels are normal buggy size, and if a b3 body would fit it...
thanks for the help... restoration is going good :-)

I'm not sure if the Rustler CVD's will fit because I believe the Bandit's arms are little shorter. I would contact MIP on this to see if they make a kit for it or if the Rustler's CVD kit will fit it.

alright... thanks for the help...
could someone please answer my other questions too please? ^
the car is coming along good... i wont be getting bearings for a bit... so i couldn't resist the urge of putting it back together and driving it... well its together with my midnight 2 and futaba esc in it... and i haven't been able to drive it outside yet...
so far so good... the tranny looks brand new now... shocks rebuilt... and clean...
just need bearings, a body, and new wheels.

For your question about the wheels I would call Traxxas at 1-800-323-0069 and see if they use normal buggy wheels and tires. I think it says the size of the Bandit's wheels in the Rustler/Bandit manual. I will check that for you. How about being creative and making a custom work of art by putting Rustler wheels and tires on it!

hehe.. i already got a rc10t2... i don't think i really need another "stadium truck"
i might have my friend make me some aluminum shock towers at his machine shop...

I had Rustler rims on my Bandit...It looked SWEET! I had the Talonz with Pro Line tires. It was a bit slower and the turns were wider, but it looked good http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif The Hex adapters fit perfectly! If you don't use the Hex, the wheel size is 2.15x1.05 for the fronts and 2.2x1.5 for the rears! Good luck with it!
